Bullet proof glass from Lipik

Rejting agencija Moody’s promijenila metodologiju rada

No, I was actually wondering which town it is. Is it near Sibenik?

I saw a report about the the building of the Patrol Boats on Ugljan for the Libyans on HRT.

Its good to see Croatia could compete with and win a contract from the Libyans despite some stiff competition from a number of different countries :)

The new ratings by Moody's is very significant as this is one of the world's premier economic assessement firms. BTW, Croatia is now ranked A1 for its business climate. :)

BTW, Bubach I have no idea which town that is in the intro.

Yes, Croatia got A1 from Moody's, but the city of Zagreb is ranked lower for some reason, that's really weird and unexpected.

btw, that enigmatic town is in Sibenska county, that's correct ;)

you got link with the report SC, I thought Croatia was still on BBB+, along with Latvia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Poland and Hungary. Thus far only Slovenia, Estonia and Czech Republic are on A1 or A, A+.

As to patrol boats Croatia is going to acquire 2 more King Class Gun Boats, bringing total to 5, cost of 2 more 54m, 400 ton boats is estimated at 30€ million.

Plans also exist to replace 4 Novi Grad class patrol boats, NG class are small 32m patrol boats of older design which entered service in mid 70's. Replacement patrol boats will cost 20€ million per boat and will be of similar dimension to NG Class but better armed and with sophisticated sensors and speeds of up to 45knts. Croatia needs these boats to fight illegal trafficking in drugs and organised crime, each patrol boat will be crewed by 15 officers and men.

Construction of second Mine sweeper is also expected to be agreed soon, currently there is final fitting to New inshore minehunter class which are 25.7m long displace 180 tons, and equipped with the latest anti mine warfare technology, each boat costs 15€ million.

^^ Hiya Mic, here is the link ....

Moody's Uprades Croatia's Rating to A1

13:32 - 26 May 2006 - Moody's increased the credit rating of Zagreb from previous Baa3 to Baa2, and Croatia from Baa3 to A1, 'CT' reports.

Improvement of the credit rating of Zagreb came after Moody's changed the methodology for calculating credit rating, within which the estimate of the long-term credit rating was changed from Baa3 to A1 with a positive outlook.
After changing the methodology, Moody's has classified Croatia in the same group with Barbados, South Korea, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.

^^ Mic, if I'm not wrong thats a considerable leap in ratings?

BTW, what are your projects on Croatia's GDP per capita and PPP in 2010 and what the percentage will be relating to the EU average?

great stuff ,thanx for the link...

Well I calculated Croatian GDP in Kuna instead of Euro and U$, primary reason being bc of strength of Kuna and weakness of all other currencies against Kuna.

GDP per head in Kuna terms has not changed and my estimates were almost spot on.

2006 GDP is excepted to hit 256.4 billion Kuna
2007 - 277.2 Billion Kuna
2008 - 328.4 billion Kuna
2009 - 352.4 billion Kuna
2010 - 384.2 billion Kuna

at present rate of Exchange this is:

2006 - 45.2 billion U$ - 10170 U$ - (17200 PPP$)
2007 - 49.1 billion U$ - 11160 U$ - (18500 PPP$)
2008 - 58.4 billion U$ - 13270 U$ - ((20800 PPP$)
2009 - 62.5 billion U$ - 13880 U$ - (21400 PPP$)
2010 - 68.4 billion U$ - 15200 U$ - (22400 PPP$)
