In the 19th century some early trams for Prague came from Belgium and I heard once that some German trams came to Czechoslovakia in the second world war, but I'm not sure of that. Certainly everything else has been Czech.

I'm not sure that backwards-facing seats and sharing knees with other passengers is going to be too popular in Czech Republic. I think Pragoimex is a little more respectful of local customs in that regard!

Expected price is 50 millions CZK per vehicle, or 1,1 billion CZK for all contract. I think that there is no maximum price, but if bids were much more expensive than estimate, tender would be probably cancelled.

Liberec - Jablonec nad Nisou

17 November will be the last day with Tatra T2 trams in regular passenger service - Liberec is the last city operating this type of trams, produced in 1958 - 1962. BTW, it was in 1988, when the city said good bye to these trams first time. But later, in 1996, when there was lack of vehicles, 9 T2 trams were bought from Ostrava. At the moment, last one trainset runs on route 11 to Liberec.
