A look at Harwood International's new Bleu Ciel development

When I was out and about scouting the site of Harwood International's latest project -- a 33-story luxury high-rise condo tower in the Harwood District adjacent to Uptown -- I found a large billboard with blue sky and not much else to allude to the grandiose plans orchestrated by Paris-based architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte.

Wilmotte, through his firm Wilmotte & Associes S.A., has teamed up with Harwood's internal design team to create the signature building that promises residents a piece of sky in Dallas.

Now, the team marketing the property has sent out a long-awaited rendering of the tower, which will bring an estimated 158 luxury residences to the northwest corner of Wolf and MicKinnon streets. The tower is named Bleu Ciel.

Construction on Bleu Ciel is scheduled to begin this fall.

Party kicks off marketing for Uptown Dallas condo tower

Developer Harwood International formally kicked off sales of its Uptown condo tower project – the 33-story Bleu Ciel building.

About 300 people were expected to attend tonight’s grand opening of the building’s marketing center on North Harwood at Wolf Street.

The displays inside include detailed models of the building and mock-ups of the luxury residential units planned in the tower.

There will be 158 condos in the high-rise, which is scheduled to start construction in October. Bleu Ciel will take about two years to build.

“The response to the project so far has been surprisingly good,” said Harwood CEO Gabriel Barbier-Mueller. “People have been trying to crash the marketing center before we could even get it open.”

The modern tower was designed by Paris architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and Harwood’s in-house design group.

I found some information on Bleu Ciel's oficial website that lets us know a bit better how tall this building will be.

http://bleucielliving.com/residences/premier-penthouses/

Two exclusive Premier Penthouses feature grand, 32nd floor entrances. Boasting more than 7,500 square feet of living space with expansive views of both uptown and downtown Dallas, these homes are perfect for the ultimate entertainer. The Premier Penthouses are equipped with a large, state-of-the-art kitchen and bar, as well as space for a media room or additional gathering areas. The luxurious master suite includes an ensuite exercise or office area, his and hers dressing rooms and much more. Each Premier Penthouse interior is complemented by almost 7,500 of outdoor terrace, including a landscaped garden and private pool deck level. The Premier Penthouses are distinguished by a stunning two-story cantilevered pool with unmatched views of the Dallas skyline. This focal feature serves as a window into the media room below, and hovers at more than 420 feet above the plaza level below.
Based on the design's flare that continues above the top floor we can calculate it to be at about 450ft. By the way that pool is going to be breathtaking.

Sales have started at Bleu Ciel and now the countdown is on to construction, scheduled to commence this fall.

And with that tidbit of news comes new details on some of the homes’ high-end features. For Bleu Ciel‘s “Sky-Rise” series, residents will enjoy floor-to-ceiling windows and massive outdoor terraces that will reach a whopping 7,500-square-feet. Complete with a fireplace, these outdoor spaces will be the place to enjoy the 33-story tower’s impressive views of the city.

“Bleu Ciel is located at the highest vantage point overlooking Uptown and Downtown Dallas,” explains Harwood International CEO Gabriel Barbier-Mueller. “This sky-rise will offer residents unrivaled 360 degree views from the spacious terraces which will be among the largest in the US.”

We also know Bleu Ciel will be the city’s first high-rise designed by a French architect: Paris-based Jean-Michel Wilmotte, whose past work includes: The Ferrari Sporting Management Center, Le Lutetia Hotel, And the La Réserve Hotel.

Gabriel Barbier-Mueller to break ground on Harwood's Bleu Ciel
After months of marketing a 33-story ultra-luxury residential skyscraper, developer Gabriel Barbier-Mueller is ready to break ground on Dallas-based Harwood International's latest project.

The firm plans to kick off the skyrise at the northwest corner of Wolf and McKinnon streets on Monday, Dec. 8.

The skyscraper, named Bleu Ciel, will appeal to residents who want to be part of a walkable community.

"We're trying to create more of a neighborhood community," said Barbier-Mueller, Harwood's founder and CEO, told the Dallas Business Journal in a previous interview. "Walkability is very important to us — to walk to Uptown and surrounding neighorhoods."
