Go Hotels set to open by Q3

Located within the Phoenix Lanang Complex, Go Hotels Lanang-Davao will house a total of 183 rooms spread throughout six guest room floors. The hotel’s Lanang-Davao branch, once operational, will be the 10th branch of Go Hotel nationwide and will bring the total room count of the Go Hotels chain to 1,409.

“The reason why we called it “Go Hotel-Lanang” is because we are planning of constructing another in the city,” Ong said.

THE ROBINSONS Hotels and Resorts is opening its first Go Hotels branch in the city, Go Hotels Lanang-Davao, which officials believe will lure corporate travellers as well as the so-called free and independent tourists (FIT).

“We are very confident, we are optimistic about the market,” Adrian O. Ong, Go Hotels marketing manager, during a press conference at Habi at Kape in Abreeza, adding that the company is eyeing about 60% of those who will patronize the hotel are corporate travellers, 30% FIT and 10% are those who book their hotels through travel agencies.

Expected to open on the third quarter of the year, the hotel is the company’s first joint venture project, said Ong, adding that the Gokongwei-led company has partnered with the Udenna Development Corp., the company behind Phoenix Petroleum.

Located about 30 minutes from the airport, the hotel has 183 rooms in six floors and that is second floor function rooms that can accommodate 250 people.

Go Hotel opens 10th branch in Davao City

Property developer Robinsons Land Corp. is set to open its 10th Go Hotel in Davao City, the biggest provincial branch of the Go Hotels chain.

The 183-room hotel within the Phoenix Complex along J.P. Laurel Ave., Go Hotel Lanang-Davao is the first project of the joint venture between Robinsons Land and Udenna Development Corp., a unit of Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc.

The Davao City hotel is the second Go Hotel branch in Mindanao, after the one in Butuan City, which opened in 2015.

Davao City is known for its tourist destinations but and a thriving commercial center. There are 242 weekly domestic and international one way flights going to Davao.

Tourist arrivals in Davao rose 4.1 percent in the first nine months of 2015 to 1,874,587 from a year ago level. Over 90 percent of the arrivals are domestic tourists. The number of foreign visitors also rose 2 percent from a year ago.
