Here it is, the WORLD's most famous beach, Daytona Beach, Florida. Home of the Great American Race, the Daytona 500 and the birthplace of NASCAR auto racing and the Daytona International Speedway as well as countless resorts, auto racing themed stores and attractions, beachsides and a long coastline, and shops among other things. I visited the city last month when I saw races @ Daytona International Speedway, but not the 500 though. It is also home to Bethune Cookman College, Daytona Beach Community College, and Embry-Riddle Universit, and located 80 miles south of Jacksonville on Interstate 95. >(
Daytona Beach has one hell of a resort/hotel skyline for a city of 64,000. A lot of new highrise hotels and resorts have been constructed very recently. 8/10.
I'm really not at all impressed. 4. On the plus side, however, and anathema to its "*******" reputation, I hear that Daytona Beach has a nice art museum.
no this is pure poop. Compared to other tourism cities like atlantic city, it really sucks. alot. I can never say nice things about florida though because I have never been their so maybe you hsoudlen't listen to me.
Thanks Jaybird for the great photos. I never seen what Daytona Beach look like.
I been to Florida cities, so based on Florida "coastline skylines" for it's size, I rate this city a 6/10
Uh, I'm no Daytona expert, and I've only driven through once, but those are terrible shots of the skyline. It's got a very decent cluster of highrises, imo. I'd give it a 6
