A look at Deloitte’s stunning new R1 billion headquarters in Midrand
By Staff Writer
April 13, 2017

Atterbury Property Group has won the tender to develop a new Gauteng office for professional services firm, Deloitte.

Atterbury is developing the new Deloitte sizeable purpose-developed office on behalf of a 50/50 joint venture between co-owners Atterbury and JSE-listed real estate capital growth fund Attacq Limited.

...The total estimated development cost is in excess of R1 billion.

...“We are quickly outgrowing both existing office spaces and are now in a position to bring together approximately 3,700 of our people into one, new, custom-designed building in what is clearly an attractive corporate destination.”

The new premises will comprise 42 500m² of workspace, which will consolidate Deloitte’s current Woodmead and Pretoria offices in a single central location. The building has space capacity for close to 5,000 people.

The new building will be located right on the Allandale interchange of the N1 highway, at the eastern side of Waterfall City.

The building will consist of a ground floor with six stories of offices and four basement parking levels including nearly 2,000 parking bays.

Bulk earthworks for the project will start in August 2017, with construction commencing on Deloitte’s new Gauteng office in the final quarter of this year.

The development will be complete in the first quarter of 2020. Deloitte will begin operating from its new South African base from April 2020.

Looks like another Paragon building which would make sense... they seem to have a formula which works very well and looks good for big corporate head offices.

Construction begins on Deloitte’s new R1 billion headquarters in Midrand

Construction has kicked off on Deloitte’s new Midrand headquarters, currently being built in the upmarket Waterfall Estate.

The 42,500 square metre ultra‐modern offices are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020, and Deloitte plans to begin operating from its new base from April 2020.

Atterbury, a leading South African property investment and development business, and JSE‐listed premier property company, Attacq, are co‐owners in a 50/50 joint venture on the development of the new Deloitte premises.

While bulk earthworks for the project began in October this year, the official commencement of development kicked off in November..

The new premises will consolidate Deloitte’s current Woodmead and Pretoria offices into a single central location at Waterfall.

The building has space capacity for close to 5,000 people and promises Deloitte prominent highway frontage at the eastern side of Waterfall City as well as its clients and talent easy and quick access to its premises.

This is going to be wonderful. Great booster for the area. Traffic will soon turn into Fourways :picard: but hey, you have to take the good with the bad.

I'm really hoping that at some point in the future Waterfall get's it's own Gautrain station.

Construction update

Snapped today. Apologies for the bad quality but I only had my phone cam. It's also a big site! Turned out to be quite difficult to find a good vantage point in order to see it in its entirety; unless you have access to a helicopter of course... ^^
