Look underneath my ID - it says Tetulia theke Teknaf. Well since you want to know - both of may parents were born in what we know as Bikrampur. I was born in Chittagong. Through marriage of my brothers and sisters - I have relatives in Sylhet, Rangpur, Barisal, Comilla.... and I am sure in other parts of the country.

When it comes to food, I am really a greedy person. I have tried and I like food from all different parts of the country. Its amazing how many distinct cuisines we have in different parts of Bangladesh.

Well, my grandparents (both maternal and paternal) live in Dhaka since 1947 but my 'dadabhai' is originally from Jalpaiguri currently in West Bengal and my 'nanabhai' is Sylheti.

My Mom and Dad are both from Tangail(very close to Dhaka).I was born in Dhaka,and lived here all my life.My Nana and his family have been in this city for over 50 years and my Dad for like 27 years.My Nana bari is right beside the Jamuna bridge,so I get the wonderful opportunity to see probably the longest bridge in south asia whenever I go there.

My father's family is from Narsingdi district...quite close to Dhaka. They moved to The City in the 1940s. My mother's family is from Pabna district; they have been in Dhaka for a few generations.

My grandparents are from Manikganj and Rajapur, both in Dhaka district. They moved to the city when they were young but continued to have strong links to their "desher bari". My parents were both born in the city..and so was I. However, we aren't dhakaiyas.

MY FATHER IS FROM JAMALPUR AND MY MOTHER IS FROM COMILLA SO I AM HALF JAMALPUR AND HALF COMILLA.....

wow I feel so lonely in this thread cuz nobody else here is from barisal. anyway my dad is from Sylhet and my mom from barisal. I'm 1/2 sylheti and 1/2 barisali. khalek and i are hybrids. I was born in dhaka shhorre but i was raised up by my parents until the age of 6 in gazipur district.

You shouldn't feel lonely. Sylhet is in the North-East and Barisal is in the south. So you cover entire Bangladesh... and wow how beautiful those two places are - Sylhet and Barisal!

Since currently you are in Dhaka, for you an easy answer would be - hei paare

Actually though im Malaysian my face looks like a typical Bangladeshi :lol: Sometimes my dad and my aunt call me Banglaboy , even recently many and many of my friends started to relate me to Bangladeshi origin hehe ..

I can't wait anymore to visit Bangladesh i already planned to visit next month but my Bangladeshi friend Mobasher in Dhaka said NO cuz the raining season , so probably next Feb. :banana:

bikrampuira pola..aashi takar tola !! LOL my dad's from bikrampur and my mom's from narshindi. but we usually go to bikrampur more.

Seems like people from Bikrampur and Sylhet are the majority here... rest of Bangladesh, where are you guys?
