Nice pics mirza esp the one of Bashundhara. Unfortunately I lack or the right technique or equipment for night shots, as my past attempts have been unsuccessful.

Awesome pictures Mirza! I think you and Tmac have done a great job showing off dhaka at night. The reason why I like looking at Dhaka at night is because most metropolitan cities look very cool at night and Dhaka is definitely no exception. Hope to see more pics later on.

Can't contribute a whole lot to this thread, being 10,000 or so miles away, but here's a little offering:

My extended family owns three buildings in the Arambagh area adjacent to Motijheel. I took this pic around sunset in 1998 from the roof of one of those buildings; if you look closely you can see a cousin of mine standing on the roof of another. Such an unobstructed view is not possible today, due to buildings that have popped up since then.

I have a low-end scanner, which is why some of the non-digital photos I post are not as crisp as they might otherwise be. But better than no scanner :).

To make it a bit more precise

Banglalink belongs to Orascom
Aktel from Telekom Malaysia
Citycell from Singtel
GrameenPhone from Telenor
Teletalk (State-owned)
Warid Telecom
Aktel = 70% from TM +30% from AK Khan family from Chittagong (thats why its called AKTel)
Citycell= 49% Pacific Group (Pacific group owned by Mr.Morshed Khan, former Foreign Minister) + 51% Singtel
GrameenPhone= 65% Telenor+ 35% Grameen Telecom(owned by Dr. Yunus's Grameen)
The rest info are absolutely right ...

but the shares change sometimes...this is as far as i am aware of...but not much differs anyway
