Disneyland HK vs Ocean Park

Of these two theme parks in Hong Kong, I only have visited Ocean Park and I really like this park. I have heard a lot of negative stories about Disneyland Hong Kong. 'This park is too small' and 'It is too busy in this park' are things I've heard a lot. What is your opinion about the best theme park of HK?

Ocean Park is definitely more original and after the expansion, it will be even more worthwhile than Disney. First of all, Ocean Park is much larger, with two sections separated by a large mountain. To travel between the two sections one takes a wonderfully scenic suspended cable car with views of the lush greenery and the South China Sea.

The gondola ride is quite nice -- at least the view. Although I went up once and it stopped suddenly. Great view until this happens.. then you are hundreds of feet above the South China Sea

Disney's not bad - but Ocean Park is the clear winner here.

The cable car ride alone is worth it...

The original theme park is the one in Lai Chi Kok

Anyway, Ocean Park for now especially Water World

I have never been to Disneyland till now!

Ocean Park doesn't have a Water World anymore?

Disneyland is far better at live shows, but Ocean Park is more educational and has a nicer geographic setting. Both are actually good complements to each other. The fear that Ocean Park will lose a lot of their customers once Disneyland opened didn't seem to have materialized.

Ah you'll be in for a huge disappointment then

Shut down around 2001/2002 I believe.

It's just not the same without it - Water World was the best theme park in HK!

It is not the case now after Mr Allan Zeman (盛智文, Shing Chi Man in Chinese) become the Corporation Board Chairperson and Deputy of the Park!

Water World is more of a water park

It doesn't really matter if it shuts down or not but it's a disappointment since it's the only water park in the territory.

Will Ocean Park create new attractions in the near future?

i'm sure ocean park will be much much cooler once the refurbishment is done...

for a start, it's got one of the best settings for a theme park in the world... you surely can't get any close with the sea compared to that... and also with the mountain as the backdrop!

the new attractions look great to me as well! (ha wish it's gonna be a franchised theme park and we'll see some ocean parks around the world... yeah i'm dreaming)
