"Disturbing Find In The Fine City Of Indianapolis!" <<< i like the sound of that better... HEH

Anyway i was on Google Maps today plotting out where out highly-touted Cultural Trail was gonna be. As well as making a map of where i think all the good routes for a potential street car system could & should be. I noticed something quite disturbing.

You might wonder what that may be, well let me tell you... I noticed that nearly EVERY intersection (excluding the ones downtown DOWNTOWN) there was a parking lot... I'm sayin that at major intersections instead of having four buildings on each corner there were parking lots preventing that! While this may not seem like a BIG deal to most. It is to me because it is a MAJOR pet peeve of mine. Hopefully when i get older & wiser i can develop some of these lots into something quite the opposite?

Anywaaay i was planning on posting pics to support my thesis yet i could not figure out how to really... I apologize as im not much of a computer guru per say... Well i do hope everyone is having a lovely evening! Perhaps some of my fellow Hoosiers can give me their two cents on this? Preferebly their two dollars.

Your thread title has gotten like 250 hits. Perhaps you should clarify or instead of google earth, walk this proposed trail then get back to us. :)

The quickest way to take a screenshot is to hit the print screen button on the top row of the keyboard (PrintScrn), then open up Microsoft Paint, hit paste and save it.

Every rail to trails project in the region has resulted in a land rush. Property values along the Monon Trail have risen to beachfront property levels. There is every reason to believe that the same may happen along the Cultural Trail. I wouldn't worry too much about those parking lots, they're opportunities lying in wait.

Do you have a few million dollars lying around? Do you have a study showing you that demand is big enough to support the business that you're proposing? Are people going to magically buy these condos, stores, and restaurants that you want to see built on these empty parking lots? Do you know magic--sounds like that's what you need.
Why Dont You Bring Your Ignorant Ass To Indy & LOOK

I'm talking to YOU in particular...and others like you who look at a certain place and say "there should be a _______________ (fill in the blank) here."

Well yeah it's great to proclaim a site fit for development--but your indignant plea for businesses or people to invest a lot of money in the place YOU want is silly. Buildings don't happen by magic--they do, in fact, take a lot of market research, investment and risk to make real. But hell, "there should be" a building on every corner eh? Yeah right...

Its not worth your time arguing with someone who doesn't know how to post without using a smiley face and random capitalized letters.
