My first KC thread since returning from Hong Kong. Yay!

I took these at around between 6:30am to 8 am, Saturday April 8th, 2006. Downtown Kansas City at sunrise -- mostly Quality Hill and some photos from the City Market.

Religion...what is it good for? Nothing...except some nice architecture and baroque-era music.

Moving on to the City Market....it was only 7 am or so, and all the vendors were still preparing for the morning and afternoon ahead.

There lies my new $15.00 tripod that I bought at Sprawlmart in the burbs at 5AM.

Breakfast at Cascone's:

Done.

Gak! these are pics of kansas city missouri-- all these pics are in Missouri.

But thanks guys. :)
^^ So.... do you not refer to Kansas City as Kansas? I would have
assumed the City part got dropped.

Everyone says either Kansas City or just "KC."

If memory serves, the city of Kansas City Missouri was incorporated before Kansas even became an official state. The state of Kansas stole the name of the fledgling city straddling the missouri and kansas border. It is named for the Kanza native-american indian tribe which occupied the area before they were deracinated by westward expansion. :)
I guess the closest I ever got was St. Louis, but you have inspired me to try
and get to KC someday!
oops.. I told a lie. Was in Carthage, Missouri when I was a teenager. Beautiful.
Before the City Market photos, I was thinking Kansas City reminded me a lot of Souix Falls, Iowa. Thanks for putting the photos up.
