Wow, I still can’t believe that the Burj has been the worlds tallest for nearly 10 years! She’s more than likely going to be the worlds tallest for another 5 years, so here’s to the Queen of the Sky

Does anybody remember when we all thought a 600+ meter tall building in Dubai of all places would never happen? Dubai really is a 21st Century New York

Remember when this was going to be the Burj Khalifa? Can you imagine if this design was actually used? Would you have liked this design? To me probably wouldn't have been as iconic

So I’ve been wondering, did the Burj Khalifa singlehandedly turn Dubai into an Arabian super city or was it just one of the reasons? Even if it didn’t have anything to do with it, I’d kinda like to know how Dubai went from a desert wasteland to what it is today?
