Despite the rumours.... from their response to me, I would assume so
While ever the current design is displayed on the project board, there's reason for confidence. :)
However, if the render suddenly disappears off the project board, it'll be time to worry. :(

Assuming the completed building turns out close to the render, this will be a remarkable and iconic structure.
^^The best in Dubai Marina, right after Ocean Heights:)

Zollern, are you saying that Damac are legally obliged to show whatever the 'current design' is on that board?

That's what I'm thinking!
It is obvious that the intense activities still are not begun. I believe that this was a Damac strategy to reassure current customers and future customers
Imre, thanks for the photos.
What makes me happy is the sign : Deep Excavacation !! :eek:kay:
unfortunately signs do not mean action. Only action = action. And I now realise that here, it will be years before we see any of that!
Are they really going to start with this project right after what happened this weekend? Unbelievable!
Damac have a huge amount of projects, a lot in random areas surrounded by undeveloped land which will stay that way so no point in building there. I recon they are trying to move investors to projects such as ocean heights, etc, which are well on their way and cancel those which won't be built.
We heard rumours that Damac were trying to get people to move FROM this project into others and other rumours saying the opposite. If there are enough people paying then they will build this. There are also rumours of a redesign down to 70 floors but nobody really knows anything.
Hi Malec, as think you know I have been contacted many times to swap out of DH, originally by various people from the London office, before that was closed. And then from Damac in Dubai. This has gone on for over a year. Given the ‘desperation’ in all of the attempts - I may be wrong, but I would be surprised if they were trying to get people to swap into DH. Having said that, despite the obvious desperation in their words, they have never been able to make it in any way financially attractive or viable. EG – to swap into Ocean Heights, even with their 40% ‘discounts’, they still try to charge double what apartments are being resold for in OH on the open market.

I am still trying to find out info re this redesign. People at Damac have tried to suggest that there never was a redesign. Other people at Damac previously used the fact of redesign as a reason for delays in construction.

But if Imre says there has been a redesign(s), I believe him.
Inside the website www.skyscraperpage.com the Damac Heights has been removed from the section diagrams and they have changed the status from under construction to proposed.
I hope that is not true.
Someone has news?

The skyscraperpage database is edited by people like us (and in fact I do a bit of editing there). It wrongly moved to under construction and was moved back a few days ago. Proposed isn't the right word but until actual piling starts it's just site preparation, which is why this thread is still in the proposals section. They haven't actually started work on the foundation yet, just preparing the site (so constructing the site walls, various foundation tests, etc).
Malec, thanks for your reply.
