SourceA new and important challenge, full of innovation and technical and social values, which is part of one of the many institutional investment programs Politecnica is participating in internationally, specifically in the financing program implemented by the African Development Bank and the Kenyatta Government , with the aim of addressing and overcoming labor market difficulties for qualified biomedical professionals in nephrology and urology within East Africa's Center of Excellence (EAC).
With a total area of 15,000 m2, for a total investment estimated by the Ministry of Health of Kenya of about 16 million euros, the project is located in a barycentric location within the metropolitan area, in a large green space close to the important road node of Ngong Road and close to the Kenyatta National Hospital and the National University Nairobi.
The building - developed on five floors - wants to be a symbolic element that will emerge in the urban landscape due to its contemporary character, its iconic volumes and the desire to emerge in the context of a dynamic and pulsating aesthetic, attentive to the context urban environment, where bioclimatic issues, water supply issues and urban values are concerned.
The complex intends to be a pole of excellence especially in the field of research related to the biomedical sciences involved. The building will host, in addition to teaching areas, university and congressional destinations, hospital departments with very high medical technology. There will be a dialysis department with 45 beds, a critical area of 20 beds, an operating block and a diagnostic area for the latest generation, as well as ambulatory, laboratory and support services. In addition to these spaces, two levels dedicated to hospitality and accommodate, in rooms with different cuts, a total of 160 internal patients.
The project, built entirely in the BIM (Building Information Modeling) environment, starting with the first volumetric choices and according to advanced approaches driven at participatory type levels, has engaged an international multidisciplinary team that has made it possible to mark the specific choices according to extra-ordinary logic in the environmental, cultural and health context, choices that will ensure, in the near future, the quality of fruition and management of successful success.

Add in the Lockdown that really affected a lot of large and small scale projects. This institute lost a very prominent person recently to the pandemic. I'm sure they have more urgent in house matters to attend to. I will just be patient on this project.
Paint would not suit KNH. It wasn't designed for pant.It would need more than painting, a full refurbishment and modernisation
You know we do have paints for concrete driveways which are much like KNH exteriors then why not? Mind you driveways get much more beating and rough use than the exterior walls of KHN which barely get touched.Let's paint this ugly monster or get it pressure washed at least.Paint would not suit KNH. A scrub down is all it needs

I believe you're referring to surface seals. These are transparent and do little to change the original color nor texture. You know we do have paints for concrete driveways which are much like KNH exteriors then why not? Nope not surface seals ,i'm talking real stuff with colours/shades of your preference and real texture for sticking tough surfaces.I believe you're referring to surface seals. These are transparent and do little to change the original color nor texture.
Kipande Hse, Standard Chartered Bank on Kenyatta Ave and the KICC and even Bruce Hse have in the past undergone this treatment, retaining the original concrete textures, after dust scrubbing the walls...
In other words you propose a complete change of its facáde.Nope not surface seals ,i'm talking real stuff with colours/shades of your preference and real texture for sticking tough surfaces.
