Another international university to open its doors in Tashkent

The University has the right to identify foreign higher education institutions that are included in the top 1000 of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings as foreign partners and to open their branches on the basis of the University.



Tashkent INTERNATIONAL University of Education was established by Government decree.
The University has the right to identify foreign higher education institutions that are included in the top 1000 of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings as foreign partners and to open their branches on the basis of the University.
Education at the University is carried out on a fee-based contract basis, in Uzbek, English and other languages in the form of day, correspondence, evening, special correspondence and distance learning.
Graduates of the University are awarded a diploma of international level or a standard sample of foreign partner universities, which is recognized as a document of higher education in Uzbekistan.
Graduates of the University's master's program will be included in the reserve of senior personnel of the Ministry of National Education and the Agency for the development of presidential, creative and specialized schools under the Cabinet of Ministers.

Chinese University of traditional medicine to open its branch in Uzbekistan



Representatives of the university spoke about the use of traditional medicine in the fight against coronavirus.


Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (China) is planning to open its branch in Uzbekistan. The agreement was reached on August 24 at a meeting of Health Minister Alisher Shadmanov with representatives of the University and the pharmaceutical company Beizhong Yilin Pharm Tech, the press service of the Ministry of Health reported.
"A group of 10 doctors and specialists from China has arrived in Uzbekistan to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, as well as control and treat the disease," the report said.
Representatives of the university spoke about the use of traditional medicine in the fight against coronavirus.
Chinese guests briefed about the importance of traditional Chinese medicine in the fight against coronavirus, and also discussed the establishment of broad cooperation with Uzbekistan in this field.
Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese medicine is currently one of the leading universities and one of the top 10 universities in China. The University has two medical clinics and a pharmaceutical plant for the production of medicines developed at the University.

The UniRank world ranking has published a list of the best universities in Uzbekistan on its website. It includes 87 educational institutions.


The rating is based on the popularity of official websites of universities, licensing indicators, accreditation of universities, the citation index of scientific articles of teachers, and more.

The National University was placed first in the ranking, while its position in the world list is 4122nd. The second and third places were occupied by the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute and the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry.

The university trains personnel in the field of ICT, software development, management of information systems and computer networks, as well as in other areas of the economy.

Tashkent has inaugurated the Digital University of Japan, pursuant to a government decree.

The university trains personnel in the field of ICT, software development, management of information systems and computer networks, as well as in other areas of the economy.

The study process is organized in Japanese and Uzbek on a fee-and-contract basis in the areas of bachelor's degree in the form of full-time and distance learning.

Every year, at least 10 applicants from among children with high academic performance, from families in need of social protection, will be admitted to the university free of charge (on the basis of a grant) on a competitive basis.

At the Tashkent University of Applied Sciences, along with the educational program of Uzbekistan, it is planned to introduce educational standards of British universities - higher educational institutions from the TOP-1000 world rankings of universities, with the involvement of their professors, teachers, scientists in the educational process and specialists. The training will be conducted in Uzbek, Russian and English in the following areas: information business systems, information security, mathematical modeling and forecasting, risk management, international financial reporting standards (IFRS), econometrics, business management, project management and others.

The admission of the first students is planned for the 2021/2022 academic year on a paid-contract basis, as well as through grants provided by potential employers and other sources. At the same time, the university will annually provide ten free places for applicants from socially vulnerable segments of the population with high academic performance.
As for the Diplomatic University being created, classes here will also be held in Uzbek, Russian and English in daytime, evening and distance (online) form on a paid-contract basis. Directions include: economics, information technology, jurisprudence and international relations. Also, graduates will be able to receive diplomas in a dual or related specialty.

Uzbek-Finnish pedagogical institute to open in Samarkand

Samarkand State University and Turku University of Finland have agreed to establish an Uzbek-Finnish pedagogical institute under SamSU.

Finnish specialists, in addition to conducting lectures, conferences, training programs, short-term training courses, intend to launch a program for improving the skills of teachers.

A memorandum inked between the parties provides for the exchange of students and teaching staff between higher educational institutions and the creation of joint educational programs.

The number of students is expected to reach 10,000 by 2025.

ADB to allocate $100mn for STEM education development in Uzbekistan


STEM education in Uzbekistan is about to receive a $100mn fund from The Asian Development Bank. The signed memorandum between the bank and The Ministry of National Education applies for grades 7-11.
“The projects will support and improve existing standards of curricula and textbooks in STEM subjects, as well as ensure training and retraining of teaching staff, purchase of necessary equipment for schools, reconstruction of school buildings and development of educational technologies,” the official statement says.
This initiative is part of the country`s efforts to reform the education system by 2030.

Turkish University of Economics and Technology opens branch in Tashkent


The Turkish University of Economics and Technology (TOBB ETÜ) has opened its campus branch in Tashkent, the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan has reported.
The initiative was first announced as part of the implementation of agreements during the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkey in February 2020. And on June 17, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on the formation of a branch of the Turkish University of Economics and Technology in Tashkent.
The new education institution aims at strengthening the educational potential of Uzbekistan and improving the training of highly qualified personnel in the field of entrepreneurship on the basis of international educational standards.
TOBB ETÜ was created as a university that trains entrepreneurs with individuality and international experience in doing business.
The Tashkent branch offers full-time education on a fee-and-contract basis and in English. The curricula and programs are identical with TOBB ETÜ in Ankara. The education period is 4 years.
