Someone said Ken Bates mentioned the hotel in a recent programme - any images? It is planned to be just shorter than the East Stand - how tall is the East stand?

Top Tip - drive to Caldicot, just over the Severn bridge. Park at the train station, the train takes half an hour into Cardiff.... Check it out!

It's nice to be reminded what the rest of the country was saying about us as we stared relegation in the face -

[QUOTE: The guardian]For all the caution and solidity in Leeds' image of itself, it is a city with mock-Italian towers attached to Victorian mills, and a current retail and housing boom based on personal debt of almost Leeds United proportions. "The city has always had ambitions to be sophisticated and think big," says the journalist Richard Benson, who like Brown has followed Leeds United and written about Leeds intermittently for decades. "The problem with using sport as a regenerative thing is that people love sports teams because they win." [/QUOTE]

Come on, Leeds!

Bollocks. Oh well Watford did play better than Leeds today. Better luck next year I hope. Did anyone notice the ridiculous "Boris Johnsonesque" tackle the Watford goalkeeper did just before half time could not understand how that did not result in a red card and penalty. Oh well congratulations to Watford I suppose. :(

On a related note is Leeds the largest city in Europe without a top flight football club?

Oh crap.
That has to be the most depressing game I've ever seen. Leeds were pants from start to finish.

Having said that, the referee deserves a winners medal, especially after the keeper's Streetfighter II combo move in the first half.

... and don't get me started on the state of the pitch!

There goalie is actually a Man U player on a season's loan to Watford , he had strict instruction's from Fergie to do that

Millennium Sq won't be as rowdy tonight as i thought it might be had we won.

A single word txt from my brother in Sydney summed it all up really = "shit"

£1.3m in gate receipts will have been worth the team turning up for, but that'll have been about it.

I think the Watford keeper was trying to recreate a tackle from yesterday's match on the pitch!

What sort of hotel will this be (eg: is it another budget 2 star Travelodge / Premier Travel Inn or something more substantial) and also will there be views of the football ground from any rooms? I believe this would be located where the club shop is now between the East and South Stands and will a new club shop be built on the ground floor of this hotel or will it be relocated nearby. It would be very odd to see a football club without a club shop at or near the stadium.

I posted this on the Leeds official thread a few days back

Quote from the Leeds v Preston program...

'This summer, whatever the outcome of the playoffs, Elland Road will be a hive of activity. Billy's Bar you already know about. [A new bar in the south stand, The Old Peacock wont be too happy!] We will be moving the Club offices to the south stand, freeing up the East Stand for improved facilities for the fans, including the Upper tier. The ticket office and call centre will be relocated to the enlarged West Stand ticket office which will also house the members club head office.
Yorkshire Radio will be launched in July and further plans will be developed to ultimately make Elland Road your second home.
We have the first drawings of the proposed hotels to be located between East and South Stands and the height will be just below that of the East Stand, resolving some of the council's expressed concerns. The council have made it clear that we can expect no help from them. Fair enough but we have to move on to become masters of our own destiny'
