Scam Alert Warning!!!

We have recently been inundated with emails, seeking confirmation of business propositions made to individuals within and outside Nigeria by some people claiming to work for, or to be affiliated with the Express Oil and Gas Limited. These emails often offer the recipients “jobs” which involve the use of the recipients’ bank accounts for the payment of money owed to the Express Oil and Gas Limited by its customers. These emails promise to permit the recipient to deduct a percentage of such payments as commission. In order to be “employed”, the authors of these emails usually request that the recipients send them personal information such as the recipients’ names, addresses, bank details etc.

Fraudulent Website Warning:

Express Oil and Gas Limited advises the public that “http://www.expressoilandgas.com” is the only official website for our company; and any other website bearing a similar name is NOT the official website for the company. We are aware that a few other websites may attempt to mislead members of the public into believing that they are linked to our company or website and are being used as a medium for perpetrating fraud and other illegal activities. Express Oil and Gas Limited DOES NOT in any way endorse, recommend or sponsor any of these fraudulent or illegal activities, or any information and material contained in these other websites.

Fraudulent Business Propositions:

A species of these emails solicit the help of the recipients in transferring huge sums of money in foreign currency, which the authors of the emails claim are entitlements from Express Oil and Gas Limited for some dead relations, or are monies accruing from excess crude oil sales, or have been forgotten in some dormant account. Sometimes, these emails also propose to award huge value contracts to the recipients of such emails. The authors of such emails often request details of recipients’ bank accounts, to enable them transfer the said monies, usually with promises of some percentage.

Recruitment Scams:

We have also recently been informed that certain emails received by members of the public have promised jobseekers positions in the Express Oil and Gas Limited without these individuals applying for the job. These emails promise that upon payment of a huge amount of money the recipients are assured jobs within the Express Oil and Gas Limited.

We dissociate ourselves entirely from any of the emails described above. We believe they are part of an attempt to perpetrate Advance Fee Fraud (popularly known as “419″) on unsuspecting members of the public. Neither Express Oil and Gas Limited nor any of its subsidiaries have at any time required or requested the use of bank accounts of individuals or members of the public for the purpose of lodging money owed to Express Oil and Gas Limited or any of its subsidiaries by customers. Advertisements for positions within the Express Oil and Gas Limited are usually made in the national dailies and reputable websites.

In the event that you receive any of the emails described above, we advise that you do the following:

i. Send a direct email to [email protected] or call the number on the website for verification.

Head, Corporate Communications

Express Oil and Gas Limited

Plot 38, Ajose Adeogun Street,

Victoria Island,

Lagos, Nigeria.

Tel: +234 (8) -2552856

Email:[email protected]
Note:

The Express Oil and Gas Limited will not be liable for any loss incurred by any person who deals with the imposters contrary to these advice.

To report any fraudulent activities referred to above please contact us: [email protected]

What do you mean you have to beg for money to get the job? Where are you located and give us more details about how they gave you the job?

@Cramos smell the coffee man...!!! This is a scam. You don't need to indulge in any financial transaction to secure yourself a job anywhere.

Hey........, I am not sure who you have being in contact with. However, any situation that involves financial transactions in securing a job, regardless of whatever disguise is wrapped around this fee, is quite candidly, a SCAM.

Do yourself a favour; cease all contact with such miscreants.
