The Real Estate Company, Ezdan, is in the process of planning its future project Al Gharrafa Mall in Gharrafa, located opposite to the Landmark Mall.

The Gharrafa Mall, covering 90,000 square meters of built-up area, will be connected to the Landmark Mall with a bridge crossing the main road. The main attraction of the project is a combination of dining, entertainment and retail, along with a pedestrian-oriented multi-use environment. Apart from this, an Imax 3D Cinema is expected to be the main attraction of the mall, and the entire region.

The mall is so designed to reflect the dynamics of history, thereby creating a new relationship between architecture space and the programme.

Another major project of Ezdan is the residential complex in Al Wakra, which has been planned to be completed in phases by 2009. This project will be built based on Middle Eastern and Qatari architectural styles. The complex, on completion will house 5000 residents, while also offering amenities such as a spa, health club, sports court and swimming pool.

I agree. Ezdan is really an ugly name. It does not mean anything in Arabic and really has zero marketing potential. Gulf Mall, LandMark, City Center, are all Malls with nice names that have the potential to be popular.

Ezdan Mall in Gharafa will partially open on Monday, April 15, Ezdan Holding has said. The public is welcome at 10am.

^^ Tawar is a family name (bin Tawar Al-Kuwari), like "al-Asmakh mall"...

^^ "Twar" is still not good for a mall as well as al-asmakh! While Northgate, Villaggio and Doha festival city sound more attractive.

u think that because media never show some fancy places with Arabian name ! that why always we think Westeren name always as the most attractive, westeren people as the most attractive (because of the movies + media,fashion shows ).

i cant really explain what in my mind because its hard but hope u get 10% of what im trying to explain.

I get your point, but I partially agree. Sure there are arabic names that are attractive to people but not " الأصمخ, طوار " !

I agree with you but in the case of Ezdan it doesn't have a meaning in Arabic i think. If they named it something else it would have been much better

I'll be going there in the weekends & hopefully take a few pics. I want to go the toy store as it's open already.

I always thought they going to name is Novelty Mall. I've read Doha news the other day. At least from what I see- It looks very modern like the Villiagio Mall. City centre & Landmark looks a bit 90s looks.

Been there last 2 weeks ago. I can say its nice but small. The shops are new to Doha.

I actually like it it looks cosy enough i dont like too big malls but they name is something else
