According to John Davis (author of the Vital Cog: African Intelligence Efforts and the War on Terrorism), NISS is considered one of the best intelligence service in Africa.

Some say that the NISS is the brain child of defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld. After the September 11, NISS was reconfigured, re-organized and upgraded with the following tasks:

*Traditional intelligence gathering
*Border security
*Criminal investigation
*Counter terrorism management

Within Africa, the NISS mission is to create a link between Committee of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa (CISSA) and Centre for Study and Research of Terrorism. Virtually spying via AU and diplomatic missions.

NISS is a close partner of CIA and the US DIA (Defence Intelligence Agency).

NISS has its own special forces equipped and trained by Task Force 88.

NISS special forces (estimated to be 3000 personnel are the detachment from the 12 th Army) can be deployed & strike in the neighbouring countries (Whenever BIG brother push the green button - of course) with the help the most advanced satellite imagery intel.

I was surprised to find out the size of Zenawi's hearing sense - bigger than the elephant ear. looks like his got the luxury to stretch his hands and ears virtually all over Africa. You sometimes wonder why he is so confident - "If you have a hammer in your hand, you think everything around you is a nail"

The book by Peter Gill - Famine and foreigners: Ethiopia since Live Aid - interestingly also reveals how Ana Gomez’s Sheraton bed room was bugged & the conversation between "The Lady - as Zenawi would like to call her" and Nega was meticulously recorded - so much so, EU was forced to hush her once they realised her meddling was not a fiction but a well documented and compelling spying-evidence........

I don't know why you guys are surprised. Ahadu has always shown to have just about every disturbing vestige of typical habesha repugnance, replete with delusional sense of self-worth and utter pretense about contradicting reality.

When you know exactly what he's talking about, there little need to ask for a clarification.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt so am still waiting for him to come here and answer my question
And if he means what you and I think he means, he should at least have the balls to admit it

Simfan, I don't think that's fair. Hersh is just telling the truth and you know it. Ahadu, I'm disappointed, really, I thought we were past that. At least those of us in the West should stop thinking like that.

I don't know why you're even saying "we've..." when you were never on board. "Precisely what I was thinking" hardly qualifies.

And blaming the observers and the indignant instead of the perpetrator? That's very Ahadu-esque if you ask me---or by extension---weyane-esque.

Some of the things you say surprise me sometimes lol....I'm tempted to attribute it to you perhaps being quite young.

We all know that Ahadu is a racist Amhara. His ancestor practiced slavery and enslaved numerous “fellow” Black Ethiopians brothers and sisters hence superiority complex towards other Africans especially those of Bantu descendant.

When he refers to monkey he means Bantu people. No need to lie about this.

This is why Ahadu hates Mengistu. Because he wanted to end the racist attitudes in Ethiopia.

Stop trying to get some cheap points here with your ridiculous generalizations.

The Somali community isn't exactly better. I have read on several forums how Somalis are proud of not being enslaved while enslaving the so-called "bantu Somalis" and selling them to Arabs.

I am not defending Ahadu, we don't even know what he meant, but this kind of attitude exists in the Horn in general and it sucks to say the least.

It's fortunately dieing with the younger generations though.
