The purpose of this thread is to showcase and provide easy access to projects that are interesting or inspirational. SSC is a huge forum and it is impossible to be aware of all projects posted here.

Also I would like to make this thread as a wish list for what I like to see build in Iraq (IN THE DISTANT FUTURE) hence the "Inspire" part of the title

here we go with some of mine:

Beirut-SOLIDERE
One of the best examples of post war renovation, I wish to see "Old Baghdad' between Tahrir Square and the MOD headquarters turned into something like this.

NYC-Penn Station, London-Kings Cross Station and DC- Union Station.
They all have been refurbished modified for the new century transportation's demand. we have Al-Mahata Alalamiya in Allawi and I hope in the future it gets the same treatment.

NYC-WTC transportation Hub.
Creating an efficient mass transit system is essential to big cities livelihood and I hope one day, the proposed metro/light rail lines meet at existing Garages like Nahda and so forth.

Abu Dhabi- New Midfield Terminal
There are plenty of new airports in the region, this one is my favorite. (Jedda new terminal is very ugly, and Hamad airport's $15+ billion tag is just ridiculous)

Riyadh-KAFD
An amazing project with amazing designs and infrastructure, my only concern is that they exceeded the demand for that type of properties. I would love to see Jazerat Ala3raas, Moderyat Alistkhbarat(camp adalah), Qasir Alzuhoor or ex-Olympic comity on Palestine st. turned to something like this but we probably would go with the Russian model Moscow-International Business Center

Berlin-City Palace Reconstruction
No major city suffered a war destruction more than Berlin, and here is a good example of restoring the old glory.

Tehran-District 22's Parks
Since Bassmaya is under construction, I think this is an appropriate project to be posted here, Tehran built a new district and the did not forget about the recreational aspect. I'm afraid that Bassmaya residents will end up with bunch of broken swings in a sandy field.

Yes, I do get depressed when I look at other forums, but I love Architecture and Civil Engineering and I'm trying to find the best projects without enduring the shenanigans of Russian 3abadi, German 3abadi, Dutch 3abadi, Brazilian 3abadi and 3abadi 3abadi.
I hope the administration in Basra will learn something from Berlin-City Reconstruction
. Berlin city map has something similar as basra, especially the water canals and rivers.
