Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium Montgomery, Alabama Capacity 7000-7500

The outside is an old train shed. Without the signage and lighting, no one would know the difference between before or after the stadium was built.

The shed down the 1st Base line has a few suites in it.

Famous for the Trains creeping above the left field wall during games. Some have even been hit by home run balls.

Varsity Stadium, home of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues football team, founded in 1877.
Football's roots are only a stone's throw away from here. The first documented gridiron football match was played at University College, University of Toronto in 1861. The original Varsity Stadium was built in 1898. It was renovated in 1924 and again in 1950 when it reached its peak capacity of 20,000. It was a classic 'U' shaped college football stadium, but it was demolished to build this new structure in 2007. The new structure seats 5,000. The redevelopment greatly enhances the quality and scope of athletics facilities at Varsity due to the inclusion of an athletics track. Varsity looks great today, but sometimes I wonder if the destruction of Canada's sporting heritage was too great a price to pay.

Best small stadiums (~under 20,000 seats)

Anyone can design a cool enormous stadium, but what stadiums are there in the smaller region that look good?
Here are my bids:

DSB Stadion (Alkmaar, Netherlands):

Energi Nord Arena (Aalborg, Denmark):

Red Bull Arena (New Jersey, NJ, USA):

Molde Stadium (Molde, Norway)

Finnair Stadium (Helsingfors, Finland)

The shrewsbury town stadium shows just how far behind the times we are in the UK when it comes to building small stadiums (and large ones for that matter)!
