No one hurt in Moscow TV center fire

MOSCOW. April 11 (Interfax) - No one was hurt in the Monday fire inside one of buildings in the Ostankino television center in Moscow, said Mikhail Seslavinsky, head of the Federal Publishing Industry Agency.

"The effects of the fire, which encompassed an area of 60 to 70 square meters, have been completely eliminated," Seslavinsky, who was in charge of the fire-fighting effort, told Interfax.

The fire occurred at the headquarters of MuzTV television channel.

"All necessary conditions have been provided for the work of the technical services. All the specialists are in their work places, and those who went home have been called back to work. There was an electricity cut in only one unit of the block," Seslavinsky said.

well I did but I had only the link I showed before :(
I wouldn't be sad if the worlds main propaganda distributor had burned down.
Just out of curiosity, I came accross this thread, and I have the question, why does the Ostankino Tower catch fire often> The last major one was back in 2000 or 2001, I am not too sure.

You've got issues, pal.
No, it's journalists that don't know what it is to be a journalist who have issues. Those spreading dirty propaganda, to ignite pugnacious feelings betweens neighbouring nations don't deserve to call themselves journalists. I'm sure that there were real ones, professional journalists craving to bring the truth to the masses, unfortunately not one of them works at the Ostankino, the governments prostitute, so to speak.

In fact, destruction of it, would bring only good to the world. Including Russia.

Note: when I say Russia in this context, I don't mean the "ruling family" of putin & co.

And salvius, before accusing me of "having issues" think whether you know enough about a subject. If you do, and you still think so, **** you. And **** everybody else whose in agreement with the actions of the so called "Ostankino" brotherhood...
^:nono:
no one said what Ostankino does is good or not but you, what we are talking about is why do you want a tower to be brought down. If they sold the tower, would you still want it destroyed?

Is the word "****" the best you could come up with?

A psychiatric ward might be a best place for you to cool off. I've noticed that you've become increasingly rude and hostile over the months. If you want to destroy architecture, you perhaps shouldn't be on the forums designed to celebrate it.
too much off topic, and no one discusses the fire, since there was nothing to discuss in the first place.
