These above are called Subordinate flags, ie flags to be fluttered in presence of British India's Flags during British Indian state functions. Its mostly fluttered in New Delhi during Delhi Durbar or in front of Indian Parliament when Council of Princes (Predecessor of Rajya Sabha) in session etc or in Bolgatty Palace of Kochi or Residency Hills of Trivandrum when their respective Kings were in meeting with British Resident.![]()

Yes true. Thats why I put British Malabar. It was officially hosted in Malabar area during British Era.Third flag is British India's (British Raj) flag..
The concept of a state flag as such was an European concept. In Native Kerala, there wasn't a state flag as such. Seals were there to represent the King and they used to put the seals in different color flags that matters visibility. State Flag as a concept came after Europeans came in... Couldnt find any flag for Malabar/Calicut anywhere. Earliest description Flag/logo of Calicut /Malabar is two swords crossed eachother with broken counch in the middle and a lighted lamp above it.
