The old thread seems to have disappeared.

Anyway, Schumi won his 2nd race in a row at Nurburgring yesterday. Still 13 points behind Alonso in the championship.

Yeah, all momentum is with Ferrari at the moment, but the tyre war always threatens to tilt the balance very quickly. I think we'll see Mclaren and Honda much closer because of the knowledge all teams have of Barcelona. Alonso though will want this one in front of his crowd. I'm backing him to win this one. Mclaren are still struggling, and the championships IMO are a distant dream :bash:

Actually, I have this gut feeling Raikonnen is going to start getting into gear (no pun intended) pretty soon, and I think even see him on the podium in Spain.

It would be good to see Schumi win won more race in a row, just to really get the championship spiced up coming into Monaco.

Yeah, glitz and glamour.. just hoping Mclaren get a good qualifying position cause there's not gonna be much overtaking there. I wonder how the extra traffic will spice up the race, and also the knockout qualifying, traffic will be a big big big factor. I think it was last year there was that Minardi stuck in the entrance to the Casino hairpin and Schum couldn't move anywhere

What about the year when schumi was behind the safety car, and then put his brakes on in the tunnel and someone (raikonnen maybe) ran right up his ass.

that was Montoya lol. Schumi in the best places in Monaco brake-tests Montoya who rams up his ass..indeed no one benefitted from that.

Webber is second on the grid for Monaco, could be in line for another podium.

M Schmacher has been kicked off pole to last on the grid by the stewards after he deliberatly screwed up the finish of qualifying by "crashing" after he had just set the best time and blocking the track.

Schmacher and Ferrari are the biggest cheats in sports, I don't know how anyone can ever support them. Ferrari have been manipulating the rules since F1 started, and Schumacher is well known for trying to cheat when the racing gets close. Good winner when he has the better car, shocking sportsman any other time.

How unlucky is Webber?? Poor guy can't buy a break!! :( Hopefully Renault signs him for next season & he can get his arse out of one of those breakdown-prone Williams-Cosworths!!

Just can't stand the fact that he's the best eh? :)
and a cheat. Not a very good one though, three attempted, only 1 successful, and that was a half-failure since he smashed his car too.

earlier this year i went.. shit.. 85 race wins and 66 poles.. what a legend. but half of those race wins won't be talked about as much as this one.

Schumi has had his day. I think he should retire at seasons end. It's time for the new crop of drivers to start coming through.

BTW, who is leaving Renault at the end of the season? Fisi?

Ahhh, yeah i think i do remember hearing that now. I really hope Webber gets the spare seat at Renault. Hopefully he is the frontrunner being their former test driver and all.

He's not the frontrunner, but if others ahead of him, for whatever reason, don't take the seat, he is in with a chance.

Who else is there? Kimi? He's leaving McLaren isn't he? Whatever happens, Webber has to get into a more reliable setup. The Williams-Cosworth is holding him back IMO. Shit even Coulthard in a Red Bull car made it on the podium last round!! Thats pretty much Webbers old Jaguar seat, albeit with a Ferrari powerplant. Maybe he should've stayed there. lol

I think Fisichella is also out of contract this years end. Renault is the hot seat for next year. or hot seats. thing is Webber moves to teams that were good before he came, then suddenly just became shit

There was talk of it, but i think it's got alot to do with what Schumi decides AFAIK?

renell: You're right about Webber, when he went to BMW i thought he would go alright. It's nothing to do with him though, last years BMW-Williams car suffered from a poor aero package & they just couldn't seem to get it right. This year, the Williams package seems to be ok, it's the Cosworth engine & also the gearbox which seems to be bring him alot of greif.

Isn't Raikonnen heading to Ferrari?
Probably. I'm sure he's going away from Mclaren, which has given him so much, but disappointed him as much too. He would've won 2 titles by now if it were not for engine problems.
