I decided to create a photo thread with the trip I have returned from, 2 days ago. The Manhattan of Europe.
When you say Frankfurt a lot of people will think of a nice German city , with a nice oldtown , and a lots of flowers at the balconies ; not the veterans of the Skyscrapercity forum :) , but anyway, I used to think the same until about 3-4 years ago. But it's nothing like that.
I was suprised to see how modern , futuristic , well planned city Frankfurt is.
It combines the skyscrapers of NYC with Germany's clean streets and European mentality. It's like having , all the good parts of 2 countries mixed into one gorgeous city.

What is your opinnion about the reconstruction of the old town of Frankfurt? I saw many of the reconstructed houses are not 100% built like the original ones.

At least a lot of the modern reconstructions could quite easily be restored to their original, historical facades in the future, if need be.

Markt 7, for example, could probably be done.
