The project passed the City Council of Freiburg, next step is a poll among the city's population.
The opening of this new stadium is proposed for mid-2018.

Freiburg (population 220,000) is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, it deserves a stadium like this:

That is not an official render.
Just a wet dream a student created for his master's thesis.

Sadly the small to medium sized stadiums constructed in Germany in the recent years all look bland and somewhat cheap.

Nothing compared to the awesome projects in Poland and Hungary.

I also think it is a bit boring, but it could be worse. The standing area is nice and it is good that there are no big holes in the corners.

A view of the main stand and the standing places.



In my opinion the single-tier stand would look more imposing if it continued further into the corners and the main stand looks a bit messy, but it's an okay stadium for €76 million.
