I thought they should have their own threads. So here i start a new one
with my own pics taken last summer in Fukuoka.

As most of japanese metros, this system allows also other operators to use their tracks - adding reciprocal services to the original metro service. Most of the times thos additional trains run far away into subburbs leaving the metro line. Here the JR train using Fukuoka metro tracks.

Fukuoka is the only japanese metro system that use unique symbols/logos identify each station.
This is very common in Mexico, but not in other metros. I think its a great idea especially
for tourists to remember the station.

What i dont like is the extremly long transfer walk at the Tenjin station.
It has a lot of shops, restos and stuff but it takes ages to reach the other line.

I think this type (only half) of the automatic platform gates look way better than the full screen doors.
They let you see the train and the station doesnt look narrow and even claustrophobic (just like
in case of the full doors)

Unfortunately i cant change the title now, even if the official name is "Fukuoka-shi chikatestu" which is translated into "Fukuoka city subway"
But i kinda chose on purpose the name "metro" instead of "subway", 'coz in most languages it's 'metro'. And i personaly hate the word 'sybway'

Why do you hate it?
That's not entirely accurate since many metros around the world run above ground as well...this causes the huge confusion for example when we discuss Tokyo on here, and it's true for every japanese city with a subway, the distinction between the entire rapid transit system and only the subway. For example subway is usually only a minority share of the entire rapid transit system in japanese systems, which for all intents and purposes run like "metros" around the world. Most subways in Japan also run through services with other rapid transit lines, which causes even more confusion.Unfortunately i cant change the title now, even if the official name is "Fukuoka-shi chikatestu" which is translated into "Fukuoka city subway"

Also my understanding of the organization of this forum was that only one thread per country.
Just one thread per country is too little in my opinion, no? That would cause a mess - many cities,
different sustems... especially for Japan - the paradise of railwais

It's just 'big' word for - "im not the fan of the word subway". That's it. And the real name is
福岡市地下鉄, Fukuoka-shi Chikatetsu. So may i put forward a proposal that would be a compromise:
"Fukuoka 地下鉄 - metro - subway"
