中国内地的英语翻译的一塌糊涂,被外国人称为chinglish ,并笑破肚皮!

一位澳洲人2001年来到北京工作,拿住相机在北京街头寻找有名的中式英语( chinglish ),这些照片被他上传到他的博客,外国人拿来做笑话!

2008年奥运就快到,希望回国后要好好整顿一下!

S.H.E - 中国话

Lounge Bar

In the U.S., this is called "Engrish", not "Chinglish". Engrish refers to any poorly translated English, not just from Chinese, but all languages, although usually it is referred to Asian languages, especially Japanese. You can even find a website dedicated to such findings at http://www.engrish.com

"Chinglish" refers to when someone uses both Chinese and English together like: 我昨天去了 supermarket 買了一些 grocery。

It's not about "worshipping" English. Most signs, especially those in spots that attract a lot of tourists, are written in both Chinese and English is mostly for commercial purposes.

I don't think they were translated by people. I think they used a translation software or something. They should get someone more competent in English to verify those translations.

This following one is not really the translator's fault. It's the fault of English puns.
