FUTURE SKYLINE RENDER

Hi all, after a review of the upcoming projects in leeds i decided a skyline render would be nice.

I will say that it is not accurate, buildings are not in the right place and it's missing some projects (most noticably west point).

It's simply to see how the proposed projects look with the existing skyline so please don't ripp me to shreds for not knowing the area, i just wanted to see these projects in a context other than bizzare angles we'll never be able to view them from.

ok, this is the original pic i used...

And this is my new version, i had to over-contrast it so the diagrams that i used for this blended in as much as possible as i couldn't get any quality renders that were'nt from odd angels...

And one with West Point:

A newer version with the buildings in a more likely arrangment, thanks for the help, although this still won't be entirely accurate but i wanted to get these projects in, will try again at some point but this wiil have to do for now.

it appears i've gotten carried away with the post-apocoliptic lighting, i'll sort this out soon.

Ifanyone wants to supply a map and help me out with locations i'll have a go at getting it correct.
Yeah..theyre pretty much all in the wrong place with soem missing =/ lol. But dont worry! Good try and those images can certainly be rearranged in the correct order... Not all the skyscrapers can fit onto that image either...
Ill post a map and stuff tomorrow when Im less tired; unless someone else does it before me.

Leeds no.1, think you can draw on the original image which ones are where roughly and which are closer further away, and i'll do my best.
Ok; you mind if I do it in the morning. Im about to collapse- I got up @ 0600 this morning and walked round Harrogate then went to Leeds coz I got bored lol.
Was just a rough idea though, But for sure, gimme a better idea and i'll do my best.

I think that is most of the buildings that will make a difference to the skyline. Just realised I missed The Spiracle- thats on the international pool site. Its on the top right hand corner of the junction above Mayfair; just before the motorway goes into the tunnel.

ok great, and roughly where on in relation to that map is the original pic taken from?
cheers, perhaps you can mark the direction, could maybe use two lines to show the field of vision?
Yeah I was gonna do that then I couldnt be bothered lol. Its taken about 1cm south from where the number '10' is. On the A road; if you look on multimap its right at the point where it meets the M621. All the skyscrapers are visible from there.
very good!
well done mark!
when you post the new pic it will be awsome!

Thanks for the effort and a great first attempt Mark! The photo is taken from the south of Leeds and I'd make the following comments to complement No.1s excellent idea with the A-Z map.

- on the far left you need GreenBank / Providence Tower, I think you have the old design for Clarence House there at the moment.
- West Point / La Luminere should appear to the left (as you look at the image) of BWP. It also needs rotating as the smaller tower would be completely blocked out by the 170m tower in front from this angle
- Mayfair will appear inbetween the Globe Road tower and West Point / La Luminere, i.e., way off to the left of where it is currently;
- Criterion Place looks spot on;
- not sure what the image is on the far right, both the Gateway tower (26 storeys) and Clarence House will appear way off to the right on this photo.

Top work, eagerly anticipating the next attempt.
is it me or does La Luminere seem out of scale?
Thanks for the comments no.1 and jimbo, will post it when i've found the appropriate images, cant find anything on city 1 or monkforge, can maybe use generic towers for the meantime.
also there are diagrams on the first page of the building list from which i used most of in the above renders, does anyone know where i can find these images for the other buildings like luminar and co???

Theses are easier to incorporate into the image as the usual renders are taken from skew-ifed angels that no amount of photoshop can really help.

No, the International Pool adjoins the footbridge just above Mayfair (the footbridge is connected to the southern end)...
Did this render ever come to anything? It'd be nice to see a future render that we can show off in the UK forums, like Birmingham and Manchester.

I'm sure it'd go down well in the future skyline thread in City Talk. Go on, you post it!

Gherkin007. :D
Go on then, I've done it. :wink2:

Now I need all of you to go say how beautiful it looks over on this thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=340576&page=53

^^ I should really try and do a more realistic version at some point although i'm not that familiar with the area, tbh, i was probably a bit over zelus with the scaling, Clarance Dock looks about 150m!!!

A bit more advice building renders and i'll try again.
