It’s very depressing. In all honesty we need to come down hard with harsher fines on littering.

One thing that strikes me in recent years is you hardly ever see those street sweepers about anymore, at least from my experience. Just shows you how stretched they are now.

As someone who lives near a main road and has to suffer boy racers with their stupid exhausts every single night, I fully welcome our totalitarian overlords.

That stretch of buildings must be saved at all costs.

Modern developments can never support small businesses in the same way that older building stock can. Which is partly why the surrounding area is so lifeless.

This is clearly true tho im still not sure why!🤔

I think the rent on commercial space in new buildings tends to be too expensive for small businesses to be viable.

So you tend to see the Cafe Neros and Tesco Metros going in instead - if we’re lucky. A lot of the time they just lie empty.

New bus stop with roof planter. And someone’s already littered because we can’t have nice things.

Places to eat/drink outside are a good thing in my book. The more the better

I mean they could’ve forked out for a nicer marquee, but aye more street activity is always good.

Yeah the roads will still be there, but less traffic and more opportunities to remove parking so still a big win.

South Portland St is good news. Though really where Laurieston is concerned efforts should be focused on de-grimifying Bridge Street (and indeed Elginton st all the way to the Toll).

I believe at least part of that industrial estate was recently acquired by the regeneration body.
