GOIN TO CHICAGO BABY!!!

1554 Views 7 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Steely Dan
Hey everyone, I am at last going to visit the city I have always wanted to visit ever since I did a school project on the sears tower when I was in grade 5!

I can't believe that I am actually going to Chicago and to see MADONNA!!! (and hopefully Oprah) -although I hear that is next to impossible!

So I’m going in mid June and I need the low down to this great city! I am driving from Toronto with 3 lesbians and I’m queer, so where can we go that safe for us all? I want to see it all. We are going to have a car so getting places will not be a problem. Is there a gay town? Is it good? Anyone wanna hook me up with some ganja? lol.

Where is a nice cheapish place to stay? Cool bars, clubs, and restaurants? Roof-top patios with cool views?

Any enlightenment would be appreciated!

cheers

Boystown or Andersonville should feel good to you, and there are several decent inexpensive (relatively, of course) hotels. The one I would recommend is on Belmont just west of Clark, but the name escapes me. Maybe on of the other forumers could help. It's between Ann Sathers and the El, on the south side of the street.

Can't help w/ the ganja though :tongue4:

How about near Bucktown or River North?
Well if you are looking for bars and stuff like that, Boystown and Andersonville would be very good for you guys. Not far is Wrigleyville which is very good as well. And you might as well hit up some areas in Lincoln Park (I would say stick around more of the DePaul campus, cause Lincoln Park is fairly big). River North is also just as good. Bucktown and Wicker Park are pretty cool as well, but are not as vibrant and exciting as the above, but can be just as good. Actually, just stick to Clark St. and you will find something always on it (Andersonville, Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park, and River North all have Clark cutting through them).

It's called City Suites Hotel... one of a group of three "Neighborhood Inns of Chicago" in the Lakeview area:

If you insist on drowning your perception, I'd wait til you get here and ask someone at the clubs. I could think of a few places off the top of my head were you could score some "ganja" but none of them are in gay-friendly neighborhoods. Actually, those neighborhoods aren't too friendly to anyone.
