This thread is for the conversion of 19 Water Street, located between West Africa House and the India Buildings, into 104 Luxury Apartments. Although being advertised as luxury apartments, they are actively being marketed towards the student market. The project is being developed by YPP (not to be confused with YPG). YPP already operate similar student-led developments in York, Leeds, Harrogate, Sheffield, and Manchester, comprising 1250 across 36 different properties. This is their first Liverpool development, and is due for completion in September 2018.

Planning Application

The Planning Explorer is currently having difficulties, so I'll edit in the planning application details when I can get on there.

The Site

Progress
- As of 24th June 2018, the building has been hoarded, and it appears work is underway.

That is one grim building,i hope it's undergoing some external work!
It would appear not, unfortunately. It would seem this development is done, and the exterior looks just the same as it ever did, give or take an objectionably huge banner -

Internally, to be fair, the ground floor space looks quite good from what you can see from the outside, but some of the upper floors don't even look like they've been touched, with old signs and other items still in the windows -

I don't suppose we're any worse off, but I sort of expected more -
