This Greenpoint project which is separate from the mega-development has stalled, according to Brownstoner.

Two-Tower, 516-Unit Project On Hold At 53 Huron Street, Greenpoint

[...]
According to Brownstoner, the plans, which are currently on hold, sport 15- and 22-story residential towers with 516 total units. A sky bridge would connect the towers, and a multi-level podium would include parking, a terrace, and probably retail space. It’s not known when the developer will move forward with the project, which would require the demolition of a two-story warehouse.

seems this project swapped hands a little back. The Greenpoint waterfront is on fire, so hopefully more news is to come soon.

Bridgewater Capital Partners to Acquire Mixed-Use Development Site at 53 Huron Street, Greenpoint

Midtown-based Bridgewater Capital Partners has entered contract to acquire, for $60.5 million, the block-long development site at 53 Huron Street, located between West Street and the East River in Greenpoint. The current property owner is London-based Quadrum Global, which never moved forward with plans to develop the site after a joint venture with Bridgewater failed.
