Per the Nashville Business Journal (subscription required), Highwoods Properties will build two towers in Nashville's Gulch District on the Broadway viaduct. A picture from the NBJ twitter.

It will be Nashville's 4th 40+ story tower based on existing and proposed. I will post more pictures and information when made available.

And the 6 story 1010 Broadway Office Building. It will have an entrance from Broadway (elevated) Viaduct at the third floor and a 10th Avenue entrance at the first floor.

No one saw this coming. It was a total surprise. Another 40+ story building. You no longer build 20 story residential towers in Nashville anymore (unless zoning requires it). There is an incredible amount of high-rise residential being built downtown and surrounding urban districts.
Highwoods (thank you Raleigh) has said it wants to start the office building as soon as they sign up a tenant. I wonder if they already have a prospect. This is just across the RR tracks from Nashville Yards with Amazon, etc.

And some screen caps; the glass building upper right is the Asurion Building which is near completion (550,000 sf in 9 floors).
