Over the next 20 years, the 155 hectare HafenCity site will be transformed into an exciting metropolitan area.
The HafenCity precinct will feature a colourful mix of cultural and leisure infrastructure, retail and hospitality outlets, inner-city living quarters, service-sector office space as well as public parks, squares, and waterfront promenades.

Directly adjacent to the historic Speicherstadt warehouse district, the construction of HafenCity is well underway. The first occupants moved into their property in 2004 and Hamburg's new central district is steadily coming to life. At Sandtorkai, planners and architects can watch as their vision for HafenCity becomes reality.
