This will be the first Hilton hotel in Hangzhou and we aim to make the Hilton Hangzhou Qianjiang the preferred choice for the discerning travellers.”

The deal marks the latest milestone in Hilton’s expansion plans in China, which include 28 hotels under development. The brand plans to serve 78 countries by the end of 2009.

“Hilton looks forward to becoming an integral part of the Hangzhou community,” said Dave Horton, Global Head – Hilton Hotels. “The Hilton Hangzhou Qianjiang is an exciting project that combines the service, amenities and innovation that define Hilton as the global leader of hospitality.”

The Hilton Hangzhou Qianjiang will comprise extensive food and beverage outlets and innovative meeting space including a ballroom, function rooms, meeting rooms and boardrooms. Surrounded by key commercial and municipal buildings of Hangzhou, the hotel is a 20-minute drive from the Xiaoshan International Airport and an 8-minute drive to Hangzhou Railway Station. The provincial capital of Zhejiang is one of the thriving cities in the Yangtze Delta region, and is within an hour’s drive to Shanghai.
