This is my itenary set by my grandparents. They told me to add or delete anything I don't want to see.
Suggestions please
 Singapore*:
o City tour of Singapore*Sentosa Island with Underwater world, Images of Singapore, Musical Fountain, 4Dimensional Magix Show, Carlsberg Sky Tower.
Jurong Bird Park.*River cruise on the Bumboat at Sinagpore

What does the city tour include? I don't want to just see historic sites. I want to see some big Malls in Singapore. What all is nice to see in Singapore. I like skyscrapers and stuff. Metro train. Gardens. Temples. Expressways(just like to ride around), shop, more???? Good picture spots of the skyline?

I am also going to India, Malaysia, Thailand. I am traveling from U.S to India by myself. Then my grandparents are taking me to all these places while my parents go on Europe cruise. I am so exciting!
I am going through Asian tour package but I don't really like structured stuff. I want free time to travel on my own.

The usual places would be from the Benjamin Sheares Bridge or its immediate vicinity and the Esplanade Theatres Waterfront Area. Ask the other forumers for the details. They know far more about photography than I do! :)

When will you be coming to Singapore? Singapore's largest shopping mall (VIVOCITY) with curvy roofs will be opening in October 2006 above the HarbourFront Metro Station.

The biggest malls at present are generally located along the vicinity of the Orchard Metro Station & the City Hall Metro Station on the North South Line (Red Line).

The skyscrapers are found between Tanjang Pagar Metro Station to Bugis Metro Station on the Green Line. Alight at any of the stations between these two and you will see the best of Singapore's office skyscraper architecture.

We refer to the Metro system here as the MRT or Mass Rapid Transit. There's also a mini Metro known as the Light Rapid Transit or LRT. If you are a train fan, you could try out the North East MRT Line, one of the world's longest and fully automated driverless train line.

But if you want to see how Singaporeans live, work and play together in a mini town, visit the northern suburbs using the Metro system. Its a place tourists to Singapore usually wouldn't visit.

Feel free to ask for details from the other friendly forumers or read up on some guide books. They usually contain most of the details.

Should I delete or add anything? What to do on my Leisure day? I am pretty sure it is OK for me to travel around Singapore by myself. Really safe city. Plus I heard train system is easy to understand.

It is home to 8,000 birds of 600 different species, displayed in huge enclosures. Highlights include the Waterfall Aviary, at 30-m (98-ft) the world’s highest man-made waterfall. An air-conditioned monorail covers the entire park. Take a ride on the air-conditioned monorail for a panoramic view of the Park and into a tropical world of jungle mists at the Waterfall Aviary. This unique island houses the national symbol of Singapore – the Merlion. The largest and the best known of Singapore’s offshore islands is also one of the closest to the mainland. These include the Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon, Images of Singapore and the Musical Fountain Show. The Underwater World Oceanarium at Sentosa is home to more than 2500 fishes from 250 different species. Start your tour with the Touch Pool for some hands-on experience with starfish, stingrays and if you dare, baby sharks. haha why waste ur time goin to Jurong Bird Park? better go to Night Safari?

Go along Orchard or City Hall for shopping
Personally, I don't like going to places with animals, not very unqiue to the place(unless we're talking about Africa or Austrailia)

It sounds like you're stuck in a group, can you actually leave and go on your own?
Anyway I find it wierd that almost every meal is Indian, they should really bring you to a hawker centre. You may want to go to Lau Pa Sat for a late night neal.:)

I can leave the group whenever I feel like it. The stuff that they say are only the free stuff they include. I don't have to do all that stuff. The reason that most of the food is Indian is because the package was ordered by my grandparents. I am meeting up with my grandparents in India, and then going on the trip. That is just the free food included. I don't plan to eat Indian food everyday. I like all kinds of food. So does my grandpa. Maybe grandma. Grandma likes Chinese food(sechuan).

i'm from india, but visited Singapore last year and totally loved it! one of the things you should try to do is the chocolate buffet at the fullerton hotel in the CBD - it's an entire dinner of chocolate and me and my folks loved it... also, if you finish there late enough, the walk through the CBD at night is unbelievable, with the illuminated skyscrapers and very light traffic... enjoy.. Singapore rocks!!

If you visit the Night Safari, I think you get a discount on the BirdPark. The Might Safar isnt too bad :)

For a great view of the city skyline, here are my recommendations:

1. Go to the top of Swissotel The Stamford. There is a bar and restaurant up there. Dress code applies.

2. Go to the top of Mandarin Hotel in Orchard Rd. Dress code applies.

3. Try the new balloon ride at Bugis. The ride lasts 15 min though.

Do you like historic streetscapes?

You should try Chinatown or Little India.

If you really love the skyline, you can just also walk along the Esplanade Waterfront

one and a quarter month until I go!
I leave tomorrow to Singapore and Asia!! ANy stuff for me to see?!! More??
Go up the apartments (public) at places like Chinatown, Bras Basah and beside Kampong Glam.

Normally they do not have names and are identified by numbers. The numbers are on panels and can be seen quite easily. Several of them.

No guards (they're public apartments) and well maintained.

Best is that they give you great views of the city.
Especially the flats at Chinatown. Great contrast between old houses there and the towering skyscrapers of CBD.
