It is irrelevant whether these people that got beaten are HKers or reporters,
The Fact that in a civil society, hospital staff acted like triads is the surprising news here.
Naturally, articles that concern HK's society & way of life will be posted in this part of the forum to increase social awareness & therefore induce improvements. News reporting is a form of self-evaluating/reflection for a society, and HK-ers value this form of freedom immensely. Reporting the truth of an event in the news is the utmost importance in news journalism. Accuracy, speed & delivery is what makes HK news-reporting an asset.
Journalists/reporters are different to Paparazzi, Paparazzi follows the gossip of actors, which is not the case here. The Reporters here were surrounded by hospital staff & then was beaten up when they were trying to enter the hospital grounds. If the hospital didn't want the reporters there, they could call the police or security, issue a trepass notice ...
In the news video, you can see that hospital staff & nurse tookout metal pipes from inside the hospital, and then hide it away when the police came. I think it is hard to deny that it is a terrible act. This is extremely disappointing, especially when the reporter's association rang the hospital director up, he did not apologise about the incidence nor give any explanations. This just reflects the weak public relation skills & poor judgement of the hospital, they don't seem to have the desire to improve the situation, and is giving SZ a bad image.
Justice will be served, only when the suspects become convicted in a court of law, the fact that arrests were made is good, but only time will tell whether the whole process has been treated fairly & with justice when the culprits have been jailed/sentenced.
In any society, beatening up people in general can be charged with the " motive/intent to cause grieveous bodily harm" or "assault". Let's hope we see this form of law & order being carried out
