..............

In the two hours I was in DT, it changed from partly cloudy, to cloudy and dark to stormy, than my camera's battery went out.

Great pics! Houston really has a nice set of skyscrapers. For some reason though, everytime I see Houston's downtown in pictures I get the feeling that it lacks character. This is not a hit on the city itself, but those of you who have gotten to go to downtown Houston what have been your expericnces and vibes from it? I am just curious because it is one of the major downtowns that I still can't get a feel from in pictures.
Some great photos, personally I'd rather have older looking buildings than modern ones any day, a good mix in there. The Great Southwest is an unsung beauty.
Certainly one of the best Houston Threads I've seen. Houston is very underappreciated nationally, I have a feeling that's going to change in the coming years.
Nice skyline overall 8/10. There are a few bland buildings but thats expected in any city. The trams look really cool aswell.
One of the best Houston threads! Good job!
nice pics, thanks RGV
Thanks for braving the rain for these nice pics. What are they building in those 3 adjacent plots down there?
Thx for all the comments.

Bosman, they are building the Houston Pavilions on those three blocks. Here's a rendering and the website if you want more info:

Yes, I have thought the same.

But this post shows more of a human Houston. When you are in Houston it feels very natural and human. I have come to the conclusion that Houston is a tough city to capture in photography, atleast to show its character.

To the photoprapher, nice job!
Thats amazing! Good idea.
Houston looks really nice. And the square streetnet in american citys is always nice to see for me. Reminds me at Sim City everytime. :)
 Thanks

Very nice photo's of Houston, the city looks great!
Thx for the comments again. I'm going to try to make it to this weekends Art Car Parade and get some shots of the goings on. This'll be the first time I've been to this parade but it looks like it's going to be a blast.

It's put on by the Orange Show, which could be another thread all onto itself.

Hopefully, I can get some pics up by Sunday night.

here's the Orange Show's website for anyone that's interested. Perhaps i'll see you there.
