Yet another wonderful thread LSyd. Great job on the pics.
Houston has great skyscrapers...Love them. I should have know this, but seeing it in pictures, Houston is really industrial.

I also envy Houston because of those palm trees. I wish we had them here, but I know for sure they wouldn't survive the winter.

Amazing Pictures! Thanks for posting them. It truly shows Houstons Range.

thanks y'all.

nope. i got there just as Ministry was taking the stage, i had to drive down from Killeen, and had to take a detour to get to my hotel downtown b/c they closed off the street the interstate exit went to for the international fest.

it was a great concert, but not as good as when i saw ministry the night before the election in 2004.

Great photos Lsyd. Stupid Question, but I have to ask: Is that suspension bridge brand new? It kind of looks like the Ravanel (aka Chasing the White Rabbit) Bridge here.

Well, it's not BRAND new but relative to bridges, yes it is new. It was completed in 1995.
Nice pictures. The more I see of Houston, the more I think it looks nice. Sure, there are areas that aren't interesting to see, like strip malls and fast food places, but every city has those. Houston looks like it has plenty of nice sections.

I noticed that the street sign has the name of the neighborhood on it: "____ District". I couldn't make out the few letters at the top. Do you know what area of Houston this is in?

This it the northern edge of downtown, near minute maid stadium.

Ah, thank you. Quite impressive bridge.
I've never even seen that bridge before...where is it??
^
It's on the east side, basically on the edge of Pasadena and LaPorte. If you've never seen this bridge, is it safe to assume you've never been in the Washburn tunnel underneath the ship channel, or taken the ferry across?
