Nice job, LSyd.
That pan pic was incredible. Too bad the weather wasn't great for clear pics though.....

MexAmericanMoose, I agree with the oil refineries. They may not be "pretty", but there is something about that industrial look with the oil refineries that I dig. :)

I'm terribly sorry you encountered such angry weather. It probibly got "beautiful" the day after you left. :( But Grand pictures!!! :) It seems they still havn't cleaned the windows yet on the Chase Tower, since I was last there.
I love the pics, especially the panorama. Nice job :eek:kay:
Nice pics! So Lsyd, I'm interested in knowing if your perception of Houston has changed now that you have visited the city?

I'm curious too!

Also** Did you enjoy the crack motels along 45? I think they add character ;) :jk:
thanks y'all.

my perception changed a while back, once y'all explained Montrose (although i never made it there, at least that i know of) and showed pictures of stuff besides gated communities, the Galleria, and "upscale" stuff. i see Houston has a tram, but i don't know how well it works to get around in the city (and heard on forums it's not too effective.) plus i didn't get as full an experience as i would've liked because i went there on a sunday night, not friday or saturday, but i'd like to go back and see how it's going, especially if downtown lofts and housing pics up in the near future (which it seems like it's doing.)

Houston has "world class" potential, but lacks the mass transit to reach it. it has the USS Texas and San Jacinto, and proximity to Galveston, which IMO put it ahead of Atlanta, but yet they're not entirely convenient. i think Atlanta's interstates are more user-friendly because they have more exits, and the closeness of midtown-downtown Atlanta seemed nicer than Houston's downtown-midtown. traffic leaving around rush-hour to go to Texas Station was hellacious, and seeing a handful of cars zipping past me on the elevated HOV lane was cool and frustrating at the same time...but going home traffic sucks in any city.

i like Houston, enough that i might visit again this year, and it's also now on the list of "places i wouldn't mind living/working in."

Great pictures. I lived in Houston for about 5 years. Good times.

Cool, glad to hear that. Just next time come on down and visit Bay Area Houston and the island!

Great pictures, looks like someone needs to clean their windows!
Houston's one of those cities that's always fascinated me besides its sprawl. It's basically "what if Atlanta were flat, its streets were gridded, and it was less than an hour's drive from the gulf." I've only been once, and I'm eager to go again. Great pics!
LSyd, you did it again, man :eek:kay: Nice photos, and I can only imagine how more effective they would have been if the sky wasn't as cloudy. Thanks for posting these images!!
Lsyd. Love the pics. Did you get a chance to see the Texas Medical Center while you were there? It looks like a downtown in itself just like the Uptown/Galleria area does.

Although TMC is a hell of a lot more urban than the Galleria area. Great pics.
Very nice.
