Its 3rd from Hyd tp Amd and 4th from Amd to Hyd...according to their schedules...and why that new flight taking 2hrs30min from Hyd to Amd??
Completely understand lots of financial factors involved, its not like we didnt have an european flight. If i am not wrong we used to have lufthansa right?
Hopefully we get any one of them, turkish, lufthansa, air france/KLM , swiss air
Amsterdam or paris is the key which has great connections with delta/AA.
Delta was saying something related to connections to india. i hope it materializes.

Never thought . Being optimistic , would result such fast result ... Today during ingauration of zf tech centre in Hyd..Ktr retraited, he would reach to Lufthansa to start Hyd Frankfurt again..
I travelled from Hyderabad airport a week back. I found that all announcements are made in Hindi and English. There is no mention of anything in Telugu language. It is creating lot of issues for people who do not know English or Hindi. Any reason why announcements are not made in Telugu?

Mauritius plans to connect Kolkata and Hyderabad when its airline gets permission to operate in more Indian cities. Kolkata and Hyderabad are the two new cities for which we plan connectivity. Currently, we are allowed only for four cities and we are flying from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai, Air Mauritius manager, India and South Asia, Vinith G told PTI on Sunday.So far we are unable to connect with these cities (Kolkata and Hyderabad) due to bilateral restrictions and we are planning to initiate dialogue with India, he said. Bilateral connectivity negotiations is held once in two years.Currently only Air Mauritius links Indian cities with the island country.Meanwhile, Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) country manager Vivek Anand said demonetisation had affected tourist flow by 10 per cent in the last three months. However, that country' s tourism department was looking at double digit growth for the current year. Last year 83,000 Indians had visited Mauritius accounting for seven per cent of the total tourist inflow to the island country. It conducted five B2B roadshows in Indian cities, which ended with Kolkata to promote tourism of the country.

GMR’s Hyderabad International Airport is World No. 1: ACI-ASQ Survey
The Airports Council International (ACI), headquartered at Montreal, Canada, in its official communication has announced and congratulated GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) for Rajiv Gandhi International Airport securing the 1st Position in Airport Service Quality (ASQ) passengers survey in the 5-15 million passengers per annum (MPPA) category for the year 2016.
The ASQ survey statistics shows that Hyderabad Airport has steadily improved its score from 4.4 in 2009 to 4.9 in 2016 (measured on scale of 1 to 5).
Hyderabad Airport has also the honour to be the first airport in India to have been awarded by ACI, The Director General’s Roll of Excellence in Airport Service Quality in 2014 for consistently earning the top five ranking in its category in the ASQ for five years in a row.
Speaking on this recognition, GHIAL CEO SGK Kishore said, “We are delighted and honoured to be ranked No. 1 Airport in ACI ASQ survey. We are thankful to our passengers to be part of this journey and helping us in reaching this milestone, yet again. We are also thankful to our stakeholders including Ministry of Civil Aviation, CISF, Airlines, Immigration, Customs for their cooperation in making Hyderabad Airport the very best airport in the world. The immense efforts put in by our partner airlines, concessionaires, housekeeping and other support staff have played a major role in this achievement. Hyderabad Airport, running in to its 9th year of operations, is designed to cater to 12MPPA. It has witnessed a growth of more than 20% in the last year with a passenger throughput of close to 15MPPA in CY 2016. We soon plan to go for expansion of the airport, where it can enhance its capacity to meet 20 MPPA. As interim measures to manage the current traffic growth, reorientation of various passenger check points within the terminal is being tried and undertaken. In order to improve passenger processing with the help of innovation, Hyderabad Airport has been the first in India to have implemented end-to-end e-boarding solution. While working towards a future-ready airport, we are also sensitive towards environment and hence 15% of airport’s energy requirement is met by the captive 5MW solar power plant. Our environment sustainable measures have earned us carbon neutrality (Level 3+, neutrality) recognition by ACI. ”

GMR Hyderabad airport plans $300 million offshore bond issue
The bonds to be issued by GMR Hyderabad airport are likely to have a tenure of 10 years and will be used to refinance GMR Infrastructure’s debt
Mumbai: GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) is planning to raise $250-300 million (Rs1,660-2,000 crore) by selling offshore bonds, two people aware of the development said.
The company has hired Citigroup Inc. and Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BofAML), among others, to conduct road shows that are expected to begin in a fortnight, the first of the two people said. Both spoke on condition of anonymity.
The debt-ridden GMR Group holds a 63% stake in GHIAL, government of India 13%, government of Telangana 13% and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd 11%.
The fund-raising comes close on heels of Delhi International Airport Pvt. Ltd, another GMR unit, raising $520 million through a similar issue in October.
The bonds will have a tenure of about 10 years and will be used for refinancing debt of GMR Infrastructure Ltd, said the second person on condition of anonymity. GMR Infrastructure has a total consolidated debt of Rs37,413 crore as of 31 March.
“The GMR Group is contemplating a variety of fund-raising options to reduce debt, refinance existing debt and lower cost of debt which include tapping bond markets in India and abroad. It will not be appropriate to speculatively comment on a specific initiative,” a GMR Airport Ltd spokesperson said. Emails to a spokesperson at Bank of America Merrill Lynch went unanswered while a spokesperson at Citi declined to comment.
The GMR Hyderabad Airport, incorporated to build, design, finance, operate and maintain the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, is a public-private partnership for the build, own, operate and transfer project.
The airport, which began commercial operations in March 2008, has a capacity to handle 12 million passengers and 150,000 tonnes of cargo every year in phase I, according to the company website.
GHIAL recorded annual sales of Rs615.49 crore and a net profit of Rs40.27 crore in 2015-16.
GMR Infrastructure, which has interests in airports, energy, transportation and urban infrastructure, has been exploring various options to bring down debt.
Last month, GMR Infrastructure’s subsidiary—GMR Chhattisgarh Energy Ltd—completed a strategic debt restructuring plan (SDR) by allotting shares to all the lenders. As per the SDR scheme, out of its total outstanding debt (including accrued interest) of Rs8,800 crore, debt to the extent of Rs2,992 crore has been converted into equity, following which the lenders will hold 52.4% and GMR the balance 47.6%.
In March last year, GMR Infrastructure had sold 51% in its 99-km highway project in Karnataka to its joint venture partners, which had earned it Rs85 crore and removed Rs1,077.94 crore in debt associated with the project off its books.
In December 2015, GMR had raised $300 million by issuing 60-year foreign currency convertible bonds to the Kuwait Investment Authority.

No news on new terminal, but we expand. So expansion plan is 18 million.. That less as we have reached 16 million already.. and by the time they expand, we would reached 18 million.. But i guess, we would have to be happy with that.. GMR is broke.. cant help it..

Just imagine stinky desis lining up for immigration and customs ============ A hearty breakfast, full meal and alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages were served during the course of the flight. At first, there were long queues at the eight operational toilets. Soon, there were no queues as all lavatories became unusable. Hectic parleys went on between the cockpit and AI operations whether the flight should be diverted to Toronto, but they decided against it. "The Boeing 777-300 (VTALJ) flew into Delhi from Hyderabad on Friday night... Since the aircraft was booked to take a full load of passengers to Chicago from Delhi and no alternate aircraft could be arranged at such short notice, it was felt that the eight servicable toilets will be enough," said a senior AI official. "In Delhi we tried to clear the four toilets using nitrogen flushing. But the toilet pipes were choked with passengers flushing all kinds of stuff like plastic bottles and sanitary napkins. Opening up the system would have taken time," said an official.
