Ignorance of Dubai over at SkyPage

It's ok, skyscraperpage discusses issues in other planets and reality is focused on earth. Jealousy my friend, nothin else.

'sok Mr. Man, I know even some of the administrators have seemingly gone after you and your Dubai posts. I don't understand the jealously though, it's weird. It's not like Dubai's telling people they're gonna build all this stuff and "hog it" all to themselves. Perhaps people have a hard time realizing there's a peaceful and friendly arab nation out there? :cheers:

partially true, the ruling maktum family holds a large stake in most of companies. its private money to me, but "public" to forbes.

-this development is the result of high oil prices
partially true, oil prices does help.

-that the building is empty
partially true, some of the units are bought by rich foreigners who just spend a season there.

-or start claiming it doesn't even exist.
partially true, existance is the point of intersection between conceptual mind colliding with what is considered by most as reality. but what is considered as reality may not be a reality to others. hence if most of the world believe in a false, that false is indeed true.

I supose is the same administrator that serves as such even here, the same one that went on anti-Dubai rampage even here, closing Dubai related threads not only on International forum but even on Dubai section, the same one that banned him (Mr Man) for he same reasons even in this forum (I don't know if he got banned on SSP though).

Skyscraperpage is a predominatly NORTH AMERICAN forum... threads about ANYTHING else go to the 2nd page with zero replies most of the time. Some american posted pictures focusing on Brasil´s poverty on the international forum of SSP, I simply complained that the americans focused their photos too much on the poor things and that he didnt took pictures of anything modern, and he spew lots of COMPLETELY wrong statistics (like saying 70% of brazilians dont have running water), I corrected his statistics and was threatened with BAN!

The North Americans on SSP are simply jealous their country cant build so many skyscrapers and even less a 1 km skyscraper... they despise Dubai even more because they associate: muslin = terrorist...

I know who were the first to build skyscrapers, and thats the largest reason for american´s envy... you are being surpassed in skyscrapers construction by many asian countries...

I was born and raised in what's referred to as the "Midwest" in the U.S. so I have a lot of experience dealing with my fellow American counterparts, and I also understand why a lot of them think the way they do. A lot of people like to point to how Americans have the best Universities and brightest minds in the world, but for every smart person in this country, there's at least 100 others who are total morons. This is because most Americans feel "freedom" means being ignorant and acting like a total jackass. Another problem is, I, just like everyone else, was raised and taught in school that the U.S. is superior to every other country. Sadly, a lot of people actually believe this. I myself have been to several countries in both Europe and Asia. Growing up all I heard was "China violates human rights" so they're all evil people. When I spent a month there last summer, I was amazed at how friendly and wonderful a society could be.

My point is, until the U.S. changes their attitude and quits spreading false propaganda in their schools, THE U.S. IS NO BETTER THAN ANY ARAB NATION THAT PROMOTES TERRORISM. The current government headed by GWBush represents the southern christian conservatives, which is the equivalent of Islamic fundamentalists who rule some countries in the Middle East. Bottom line... I'm ashamed to be an American. :cheers:
