All these fields... :gaah:

...all this nothing located in the middle of nowhere!! :gaah: :gaah:

Anyway, here's a little collection of photos representing the little town of Oakwood, Ontario, populated by less than 900 people.

Some of these photos you might have seen already. All of the photos were taken with the Olympus E1 + 14-45mm lens.

Oakwood Church. Our most interesting building by far.

Mariposa Townhall (Oakwood used to be known as Mariposa, but got it's name changed about 20-30 years ago. Have no idea why...)

Some weird ugly house

Oakwood Community Center.

Oakwood Community Hall.

Statue beside the Community Hall (dedicated to those of Oakwood who died in WWII)

Nasty!

Our skyline!

Our sky...

One of the first pics taken with my new cam.

We might not have any modern highrises but we do have some sweet ass houses!

... And cars!

This pic is dedicated to Mr_Denmark. I know how much he likes pollution ;)

Forgot what this type of plant is called... anyone know?

Some water droplets :)

That's it for now. This is the best my lil town has to offer... it's despicable!
Oh well.. only 96½ days left ;) (then i'm moving to Copenhagen)

--- Once i get myself the 40-150mm lens (that i've badly wanted to get for the past month, but couldnt get because of lack of money :sleepy: ), then i'll go to more interesting places like Toronto. In about 1 or 2 months, i'll also be going to Chicago and NYC for some days :) I'll defidentally have the lens by then ---

Anyways, enjoy the rest of your day folks! :cheers2:

OMG!! You beat my current town as having the most sprawl! But nice pics btw, your town's church puts ours (and the county, including the Cathederal) to shame. ;)

BTW, the logo of the Township of Mariposa looks almost like a mushroom cloud.
Mariposa.... That's a really nice name, smooth, sad that they changed, look like a nice but quiet town, must be horrid in the long run!
Nice pics there buddy... I think it's looks great, cool and vibrent.. maybe you aren't using all your options?

I mean, you could pick up figueskating at the rink... or grow plants.. heck I'm sure there room a small cow plantation ( or herd or wtf it's called )

And don't even get me started on the indoor options, I mean why even leave when you have sites like SSC?

And you could grow your hair longer and sell it, or maybe learn how to play an instrument... maybe a Saxo-mo-phone ;)

The world is your oyster mate! All you have to do is crack the hard shell by force!

"Forgot what this type of plant is called... anyone know?"

I think it's called "dunhammer" in danish..

Nice little town btw
Its a nice little town, looks very peaceful with some really nice houses! :eek:kay:
I can see why...it looks very pleasant but not exactly the most exciting place on earth. Reedmace is a very old name for those things...in Britain we say "Bulrush" and in America "Cattail".

 You know, i never thought of that... (or maybe i did but i decided to ignore it and fish for somethin else? ;))

Thanks a lot for the comments... I agree it would be a nice town, if you were old/retired, or just looking for a relaxing/quiet place with litterally NOTHING going on ... ever... and ATM i'm neither old/retired or looking for a relaxing/quiet place. So, it's hell! ;)

It's way too quiet out here. There is nothing to do or nowhere to go. I love the big city/urban life.
And snow isnt exactly a good thing!!! Unless its before christmas, but after christmas, it's evil!

Haha.. yeah it actually does!

I think it's supposed to be a really fat tree, or something like that... :dunno:

and now you're sick...... ;)

Well Done dll. You have to go to Toronto and take some pics! :eek:kay:
Great pics. :eek:kay: Looks like a cute little town. But maybe a bit too small to enjoy life actively. But certainly a good place to relax during summer holidays.

Hehe yeah .. they are expensive though.. from what i hear a house like that could go for somewhere around $800,000 CA (4,000,000 DKK).
Nice pics! But is it impossible for you to move to Toronto?

I would never move to Toronto. :)
In 3 months i'll be moving to Copenhagen, which is a much better city IMO (not counting architecture of course).
