La Guadeloupe "Gwada" - Karukera

Guadeloupe is an archipelago of roughly 7 islands (1628km²), it's part of the French Republic and Europpean Union, exactly like Martinique its "ile-soeur" (sister-island)
Population: 407719 inh (2009)
Capital : Basse-Terre .... but the largest city and the economic capital is Pointe-à-Pitre.
Languages : French and French-based creole of Guadeloupe
GDP per Capita : 23,042 USD

This thread is about the landscape of this achipelago. They are various due to the large number of islands but also because Guadeloupe is the only carribean territory located over the 2 arcs of the west Indies :

Volcanic arc: "mountainous islands"
Guadeloupe : Basse-Terre, Les Saintes
Other caribbean islands : Dominica, Martinique, St-Lucia, Grenada, Saba ...

Coral arc: "flat and dry islands"
Guadeloupe : Grande-Terre, Petite-Terre, Marie-Galante, La Désirade
Other caribbean islands: Barbados, Antigua, Saint-Martin, Anguilla ...

Let's see an overview of the islands that you will keep in mind :)

Grande-Terre and Marie-Galante are flats with falls, they are bigger in G-T (First photo) but there is also white sand beaches, (second photo, in Marie-Galante)
