Any more recent updates on goings on in Ipswich, don't know the place so pictures of development would be interesting.

Actually yes, just went there yesterday. Not the best shots but I only had my small old camera.

Well... guess I'l take the reins and continue this thread. Suffolk and Ipswich have alot of proposals, unfortunately, all at a much smaller, less ambitious scale than was original planned prior to the 2008 crash.

The winerack is finally nearing completion almost bringing the waterfront saga to an end. The Cranfield Mill is still unfinished and the gateway has become a joke. An initial proposal for the refurbishment of Burtons to become an art hub... how ambitious.

Yeah it's a good use of the building. It has potential to be a really smart development. Now I know there's an actual Ipswich thread I'll pop down and document some other stuff going on!

Nowt wrong with getting an Art Hub in the area?
The development looks alright, but the art hub is just part of the building, the rest will be let to start ups. I just feel its not ambitious enough. I like the idea of keeping the burtons building, but not the smaller factory buildings.

Naturally my instincts were to allow the thread for smelly old Ipswich to languish in the Projects & Construction Forum which ironically no one ever seems to look at (it's all about sub-forums these days! ), but I couldn't do it - East Anglian solidarity and all that  So I asked Ralph to shift both this and the N&N thread over.

I'm quite interested in seeing the waterside developments finally move forward again, so it would be good to see some activity and updates on this thread from the locals. Unfortunately I don't even live in Norwich, let alone Ipswich (I'm in Sheffield), so my ability to do updates on here was always going to be limited...

Welcome to the forum J.W. Good to have you on board.
Cheers, I'v followed the forums on this site for a while. I posted (under different account) about Ipswich in the East Anglia thread, now Essex, a while ago. It seems the forums are now much better organised. Noticed alot of new users as well.

There are some proposals and construction happening in Ipswich, I'l post some updates soon. Snoasis could possibly be back on the cards, though the thread hasnt been updated in nearly a decade. https://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=329708&page=2
