I also saw fencing go up on that block just south of this next to the 405. Anyone know what that's supposed to be? Looks like it just may be another parking garage...
A rendering of what the 20-story office tower, seen toward the center and tinted blue, could look like from above. The tower is shown just north of the Irvine Spectrum Center, in the foreground with the red roof. The 405 freeway is on the left.

I'm all for any type of development/densification in the OC, so I guess I like this project. Oh btw...I think that is the biggest stretch of the word "icon" that I have ever seen!

Office park 101. And I wouldn't touch the term "icon" with a ten foot pole.

But whatever, it'll bring jobs.

I guess "unimaginative" is a good summary.

And love for transit here? Can we at least get a shuttle from the nearest train station?

easy to manage, since its 6 blocks away
one block in Orange County is like 4 blocks in LA... and infinitely more boring since the blocks in OC contain nearly nothing except asphalt or unusable/non-public grass.

California is suffering from one of the biggest droughts in history and yet there are acres and acres of perfectly green grass surrounding these Orange Co. office developments, even in the middle of summer. If water was priced to reflect its scarcity, like any other good or service is priced, you wouldn't see it wasted like this.

They use sprinklers often in the middle of the day in my apartment complex and at UCI Irvine. I don't understand how they get away with it.

Politics.

For every thousand LA residents trying their hardest to take shorter showers or incorporate conservative front yard designs, there's one OC office that consumes more water than the whole lot of them just to feed their private lawns.

Pics taken by me on 19 Jan 2015...

Headed back to LA this Monday and took this on my stopover at the Irvine Spectrum (from my weekend hiking in San Diego County).
