Congrats for the 58th anniversary of independence. But Israel was founded on the 14th of may, so why was the anniversary celebrated on the 2nd of may? Is it a result of the difference between the gregorian calendar and the hebrew calendar?

For those of you who may not know, this picture was taken on the day beofre independence day, which is memorial day. Durring the day, the sirens run at full strength and everyone stops what they're doing - even driving - and pauses in rememberance.

This is my first time to see people stop in the middle of the highway! :)
