Does anyone know if this is ever likely to be finished?

There seem to be only about 3 builders working on it now, and nothing seems to have happened in weeks.

Compare this with the new BDP HQ which is progressing very rapidly indeed!!

The old thread seems to have vanished, is this the right one now? Guess it needs moving too…

Anyhoo, as someone somewhere pointed out the other week the wraps have come off on the main street elevation and are half off on the canal side; and shockingly its really quite nice! Very clean finish, real stone from top to bottom; generally looks rather good and not quite akin to anything else in town. Still torturously slow, and still only one elevation looking finished, but this can only bode well for the eventual end result on their other schemes.
Also Sarah Village seems to be coming along very nicely!

F*** me!(excuse the language) From the pictures(thanks Archi) that looks like a quality finish and design. Perhaps it was worth the wait after all. Bodes well for Sarah Tower and Sarah Village.
I had the same reaction! Really a shock at how very good it looks; genuinely superbly finished, fingers crossed for the others.....
Two cladding tiles are now cracked and broken. Doesn't look quite as good :-(
There were when I took the picture; its still being built! That happens on any project, they will clearly be replaced.
Blimey - does look alright doesnt it?
It looks quite Bauhaus/ 30s modernism with a bit of Odeon styling aswell.
Me likey.

The slit windows are a bit miserly though from a 'liveabilty' point of view.

Ive said it before - that we might be reading BSC wrong - some see it as inactivity where as it could be read as just taking time over things and getting things right. I'd rather have a slowly built good building than a quickly built poor one.
I think part of the reason for the slit and deep recessed windows is privacy issues to/from The Place, the street is quite narrow and there is apparently an ongoing “right to light” complaint; I think that is one of the reasons that this elevation has been finished off first.

It is just wonderful to see (what at least appears to be) bespoke finished real stone facing, not a tiling system or composite stone, and its even more of a pleasant surprise as I had presumed from the images that it would be rendered. It just stands out from the crowd as an incredibly simple but high quality finish, and it feels so nice to have a reason to get excited by BSC schemes again.
Well, the facing might be good quality, but IMHO that's the only thing that's any good.

IMHO: Look at those slitty pillbox windows. Can you imagine being inside those rooms? And the slitty pillbox window tops don't line up with the full-size window tops, so the sleek lines are compromised. Then it all goes pear shaped and totally loses the plot up top. Fucking rubbish. Yuk.

It is.

Cladding resembles the Arndale reclad!
It's a shame BSC are f***ing everything up because Issa Quay really is nice. Just shows what they can do. Come on BAZ, get you act together.(or sell on)
Quay really is nice.
I'm trying my hardest!!!!!!

I don't see it :(

Try squinting, focus your eyes just beyond the image and then let your eyes relax.
Covering coming down on the side facing towards 111 and Malmaison. Revealing dark panels that go very well with the sandstone. Looking sexy.
I think we should all give BSC a pat on the back. Issa Quay looks brilliant. The finish looks top notch aswell. (from what I've seen) Hopefully their other developements will turn out to be just as good.(eventually)

True - the quality finish of this one gives me great hope for the retrotastic Canopus twin towers
