The Stelvio National Park is the largest protected area in Italy and the second-largest nature reserve in size in the Alpine region, the park is characterized by glaciers and rocky outcrops, it hosts some of the highest peaks in Central Alps.
Most of the preserved area is embedded into the high altitude plateau formed by the Ortles-Cevedale mountain range.

The Stelvio Pass is located in the municipality of Bormio and marks the border with the province of Bolzano, while the hundred turns on the three sides, Bormio, Trafoi and Sta Maria, represent the myth for the cyclists around the world. The main road SS38 of the Stelvio pass is closed in the winter months from November to May, through it connecting the Valtellina to the province of Bolzano, but also Engadine, is capable of giving emotions, rising slowly from Bormio and leading directly to the glaciers up to 22 km altitude 2758.

La Maddalena Archipelago National Park is a geomarine protected area consisting of a group of islands situated in the north-east of the coast of Gallura, in the stretch of sea between Sardinia and Corsica known as Bocche di Bonifacio. These islands – except for La Maddalena Island housing the homonymous town and characterized by a significant human presence – are entirely deserted or scattered with small human settlements, like in Caprera and Santa Maria Islands
The Pollino National Park (Italian: Parco nazionale del Pollino) is a national park in Basilicata and Calabria, southern Italy. Comprised within the provinces of Cosenza, Matera and Potenza, with its 1,820 square kilometres it is the largest natural park in the country. It takes its name from the Pollino Massif (highest peak 2,267 m). The park's symbol is the Bosnian pine, which here has one of its last remaining growing areas in Italy.
